FREE PARKING AND FREE WIFI!!! Welcome to Unit 402 Surf Dweller!! This unit is your perfect getaway! It has plenty of space for the entire family to relax and enjoy a fun-filled vacation at the beach. This enormous two bedroom two bathroom all tile unit is directly on the beautiful Gulf of Mexico! Featuring extras like a KEURIG & electric FIREPLACE, 402 has it ALL! King mattress is memory foam-ultimate comfort! Wake up early at least one morning to take advantage of the amazing views FROM BED! You won't believe the phenomenal scenes you'll take in from unit 402. Two FULL beds in the guest bedroom assure the kids are comfortable. Best of all, the mattresses are PILLOW-TOP. The matching furniture in this master has ample space for accommodating longer stays. The fully furnished kitchen features beautiful rich black granite counter tops. It is also stocked with all cookware, dinner ware, utensils, and pots/pans needed for every cooking need. Additionally, there is a second refrigerator in the laundry area for those that have BULK food supplies. Don't worry, all of those snacks for the grand kids will easily fit in this condo. The massive private balcony has two entryways with one being the private entry in the master bedroom. Don't forget about the amazing balcony FURNITURE! Truly a perk to renting 402. The 100% cancellation loss can be avoided if: (1) Red Sky rental vacation insurance was purchased and the reason for cancellation is a reason covered under the travel insurance; or (2) Brooks and Shorey Resorts can re-rent the unit for the full term of the original rental period, in which case the guest will be charged 10% of the total paid as rebooking fee. Prior to arrival, if a guest has to shorten their stay or change their unit, normal cancellation penalties may apply, whether they are insured or not. Refunds issued by Brooks and Shorey Resorts will be issued no more than 30 days after departure date of original stay. Refunds are payable to the guest within 30 days after the subsequent re-rent payment has cleared our account.

"Best part of the day
This condo is delightful! It is very clean, well decorated, and well appointed. It has been updated. The porch is the absolute best! We started and ended our days there. It's a wonderful spot to watch the waves and the storms. The beach service is a blessing (Joey you rock!)
We didn't make it to the pool or hot tub,but the area was clean and well maintained. We would absolutely stay here again.

We love Surf Dweller. This was our 4th year to stay here but first time in this condo. The furniture was very comfortable and the balcony furniture was the best ever. It was clean, and well stocked. A few things could use updating but still a great experience. "

Very nice, clean unit. The bed in master was comfortable, the shower in master needs to have handle replaced as it was broken. It worked but I struggles to get to the temperature that was comfortable. Definitely would recommend the unit."

"One of the best yet!
Definitely one of the best units I have booked. The patio furniture was great and much more relaxing. Many of us went out on the balcony to relax and listen to ocean and fell asleep. The patio furniture was a huge plus. My son immediately walked in and said this unit was better than the one we booked last year. The unit was clean, plenty of towels, and big enough for my family and I. I loved the app which had a lot of info and made check in/out easy and no stopping at an office. Everyone I spoke to in the office was so nice prior to our arrival.
The only suggestions I would make is to not have white bedding and towels for many reasons I would personally choose another color, a pair of scissors which I did not see, and a small basket for when doing laundry which most other units have had. We definitely will be booking this unit again in the future as we all really enjoyed this unit!
As for the building itself we have always enjoyed SD as it’s always seemed less crowded (smaller complex), pool, tennis, ocean view from living room and master with big/long balcony, the complex is always quiet at night and it is not over populated on the beach. Down side is when you have a larger suv the parking lot is a little tight in my opinion. "

"Great Place to Stay
It's a beautiful unit, and we will absolutely reserve it again for future visits. The furniture in the unit and on the balcony are very comfortable.
The only thing I would change is for all the outlets to work. In every one, only one of the two plugs would, so charging phones/iPads next to where you are sitting is a challenge if you also want the lights on."

Surf Dweller is a great building with wonderful balcony views right on the ocean. We have stayed at multiple rooms in this building. This particular unit does need some updating. There is no closet in the master bedroom as listed in the unit description ...a bit odd! The kitchen is fairly well stocked however it needs some sharp knives and large skillets!! Having beach service is a plus and Devan is absolutely wonderful! "

We enjoyed our stay in 402. It was clean and nicely set up. The whole complex was well kept and quiet. One thing we appreciated over other condos we have stayed at was the quiet. We did not hear any noise from outside our unit. The only complaint I have is the cleaning people came at 8:30 am. Checkout time said 10 am but they were early. We were not ready to go so they waited outside the door until we left. "

"Poor experience
The unit had zero power - turned off at meter - agency claimed it was checked at 1pm and we arrived at 5pm. The freezer had been out for days. It was like going back after a hurricane. The wooden chairs around the table all fell apart. The host cut her leg badly on a glass overhang table next to the balcony door with no bumpers - complete hazard for children and elderly! We had no AC and asked to be moved to another unit the first night - which was available because we found the unit online - that we were moved to during “operating hours” the next day. We got more assistance from other condo owners than agency. Very unimpressed. "

Room was ok. Tile floors havent been mopped in awhile. Feet turned black really fast. Master bed is hard as brick. Couch is really old and stained. The little pillows on couch look like they are 20 years old and stained and nasty. Overall it's a nice room. Just needs some upgrades. Nice kitchen. Couldnt get fully clean in master shower. The nozzle barely wet you. Cheapest there is I believe! And the direct tv barely worked. It froze up alot. "

"Enjoyable but worn
This is our 5th stay in this unit. Overall we had another nice stay. Our TV broke on the second day and Bill with management had a new one set up for us within a day and a half so we could catch a ball game at night. That was great service. The furniture could definitely use some updating inside and out. The cushions are terrible. The kitchen had an odd assortment of pans that weren’t conducive to cooking for more than three people. The mattresses on the beds are great. We love staying at Surf Dweller but might opt for a different room next time. "

"Not the best unit
This is our 2nd year at the Surf Dweller, and the location is simply ideal
Right on the beach, beautiful views from the condo, close to airport, Destin and Pensacola, plenty of things to do and restaurants in walking distance
Condo was spacious, and ok decorated, sofa and loveseat very uncomfortable, but plenty of sitting for everyone.
Comfy beds and ample space for all of us.
Beach service wkth 2 chairs and unbrella was a huge plus
Ample closet space and hangers, thanks to managers that problem was solved
Condo seemed clean, but after walking there for 10 min my kid’s soles were black
Shower is ridiculous with no stream at all, and due to water damage from above there was stucco on the floor on day 2 and growing black mold thereafter- second bathroom was leaking too. I hope it will be taken care of soon as it is just not safe
Kitchen was spacious and with all the appliances in good order
Plenty of silverware and plates, but bring your own knife and normal pot/pan- if you want to cook something, there is nothing suitable
Now about TVs- what a disappointment. There are TVs in all rooms, but not smart TVs, so you are stuck with DirecTV, which does take some of the fun of nighttime entertainment away for sure..
No rug in a living room, so if you have a little kid, he will be playing on the floor. We went and bought one for that sole purpose.
Overall, we are coming back to Surf Dweller next year, but not to this condo.
It can be very good, but it just ain’t the way it is.
Brooks and Shorey were very nice and responsive, but there were things they were just not able to fix.

Overall a good stay in a great location on the gulf. The condo was clean and in fairly good shape. The condo was drafty and we had a hard time keeping living area warm,curtains didn't close properly,master bath exhaust fan didn't pull steam out(counters wet after shower),sofa in living room not very comfy. We were impressed with the size and roominess of condo. Loved the beachfront view and comfy patio furniture.Would recommend to family and friends."

As normal, it was a pleasure to deal with Brooks and Shorey. Everything about the condo was as advertised, well furnished and comfortable. The only issue we had was a cleaning issue in that when we took the cushions off the sleeper sofa there was a significant pile of sand on the matrress underneath the cushions. "

"Disappointing Customer Service by Brooks and Shorey
We were pleased with the location of the Surf Dweller 402, great Gulf views. However, we did not expect the ant infestation in both the beds in the 1st bedroom and the rug, dead bugs on the floor in both bedrooms, stopped up bathroom sink, very dusty unit overall, safety hazzard living room rug, and the scary microwave. I called 3 times to report the ant infestation and the sink to property management. They promised me that maintenance would come, but there was no help for us. My husband went to the store to buy supplies to repel ants but they were relentless! He also bought Liquid Plummer to successfully unstop the sink. We were disappointed overall and I was repeatedly, but very courteously lied to me for our entire stay concerning impending help. I would NOT recommend this unit to friends, family or fellow travelers. "

Had a great time love the location, only a few things negative nothing major we didn’t have a broom, and with kids wanted to sweep sand that was brought in, also no iron even though didn’t need it , sand on outdoor sofa and chairs when arrived. "The best by far!
This condo is wonderful! I have rented many vacation condos over the years and this was the best by far. Very, very clean and the kitchen had everything imaginable that you may need. I took many photos of the balcony as it truly is HUGE! The pictures can't do it justice. We loved sitting out on it enjoying the beach/gulf views and saw dolphins one day. I raved about Brooks and Shorey Rentals as their communication was beyond exceptional. There was not one aspect of this vacation that did not exceed out expectations. We are spreading the word about our stay so that others can enjoy a vacation like we did. We will never look at any other option for future rentals as Surf Dweller 402 is the best. The Surf Dweller was in a great location. The condo and balcony size were awesome! The condo was just as the pictures showed. There was plenty of seating for us and our adult children. Keyless entry was very convenient. The kitchen was adequately stocked and there were plenty of towels and washcloths available. The full size washer and dryer made laundry time less of a burden.
Furnishings were good. I was surprised to find dishes still in the dishwasher when we arrived and some surfaces did not appear to have been wiped down. I guess I expected more in depth cleaning amidst the Corona pandemic. Bedroom and bathroom doors did not close easily and the shower handle had to be tightened each time it was used. The balcony size was very large but the rug never dried during the week we were there, resulting in a bad odor. I would definitely stay at Surf Dweller again. However; I might try a different unit. "

"Surf Dweller 402
The ocean view, spacious room, and easy beach access made this a great vacation stay. We had plenty of room with very comfortable furniture, beds, etc. The kitchen is also very spacious. My only complaint is that the kitchen is not stocked well. There was not a muffin pan at all, only one larger skillet, no potholders that we could ever find, small amount of cooking utensils, etc. We were able to have beach chairs provided each day. However, I don't understand why the beach service provider makes the guests who have the complimentary chairs already paid for by the condo owner go to the far right or far left for chairs even if we are the first to arrive daily at the beach. They give the guests paying weekly priority which doesn't seem right since the owner of the condo has paid for the beach chair rental. Other than these minor issues, we enjoyed a wonderful week with absolutely perfect weather. "

"Amazing view right on the beach!
Great location and amazing ocean view and very easy beach access. The balcony was huge with lots of seating. Rooms and living area were very spacious. Kitchen appliances were very nice and updated. Unit was very family and kid friendly. We enjoyed our stay and would for sure come back and stay in this same unit."

"Great condo in great location!
I'm very picky when it comes to condo/hotel rentals. This condo was very clean! The location was great! We loved that it wasn't very crowded on the beach. Prior to check-in, I contacted management to ask that 3 parking passes be available, and they were waiting in the condo when we arrived! I had to call the after hours line on check-in day due to some confusion with the after hours dropbox, and they called me back immediately and were so helpful! We will definitely be back!"

Got lucky! Bad weather went east and west of us. Condo we rented was almost as described. Nice beds, clean and spacious. Owners may want to consider some upgrades to living room furniture, but it was no big deal to us. The deck furniture should be updated as well. Would also upgrade options for the TV as to available channels Great location, easy access to beach. "

I chose this condo because it looked comfortable. The vacation was for my daughter and I. One weekend my grandson, his wife and their 4 children joined us. There was room for all, and my grandson said that even the couch pull out bed was comfortable. Everything was clean and convenient. I would stay in this condo again."

"Paradise Getaway!
We loved our stay at Surf Dwellers Room 402. The condo was very large, the balcony was the length of the whole condo the rooms were very spacious and everything you needed was there in the kitchen. The only negative thing was the master bedroom shower head. The water pressure coming out of the shower head was so soft that it was nearly impossible to get the sand and shampoo out of my grand daughter’s and my hair, much less try to wash my private parts. I think a removeable shower hose or a head with more pressure would have been better. Don’t let the shower head keep you from staying there though. We had an awesome time and we will be back."

"Great view! Great place!
My family and I had a great time on spring break while renting this condo. Condo was big and had everything we needed. Our favorite part was the balcony! It was huge with an amazing view! It had lots of places to sit and just watch the sunrise. My kids enjoyed the heated pool, however wish the pool was Oceanside! Pool is situated in front of the building versus by the ocean. Check in was really easy and so was check out. Would def stay here again! "

"Perfect Getaway
The condo was clean, the beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked and included a second fridge that was perfect for drinks! You're literally steps to the beach. We enjoyed the free beach service and the proximity to everything. The facility itself (halls, elevator, beachside bathrooms and grounds) were all kept very clean. It's also not a huge complex so the beach wasn't too crowded. The pool is nice but it's in the parking lot which might deter some; we don't use the pool when we come to the beach so it wasn't an issue for us."

"Just as the pictures showed
The view from the balcony was great. The pictures were an absolute 100% depiction of the actual condo. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything needed, including a Keurig. I had asked about this several times but no one could confirm or deny if there was one so we didn't bring our k-cups. Turns out we could have. Not a big deal. Love the extra fridge in the laundry room. Couple of standard maintainence items in the 2 bathrooms but nothing major. Very spacious, decorated nicely. Love the beach service and the fact that the hotel offered paddleboards and such for rent. This condo is right on the beach. Enjoyed that it wasn't right in the middle of major commercial area, but still within a short distance of the pier and shops. The master bed was super comfortable and cozy. The property management company was responsive, available and wonderful to work with. I highly recommend this unit. "

We enjoyed the surf dweller and the beach. Only downside was getting stuck in the elevator and having to call 911 and having the fire department to get us out. The call button did not summon any response and the surf dweller staff was not helpful. Elevators need an upgrade to improve safety and reliability"

"Outstanding!
The view from the large balcony is breathtaking! We really enjoyed being on the beach and listening to the waves at night from the room. Everything was very clean and organized with really nice kitchen! We have a family of 4 and enjoyed having an extra fridge to keep our water and drinks cold. The beach attendants were very helpful and the reserved beach chairs were a really nice touch! There were several maintenance people around and they seemed to keep everything in great working order: the elevators were clean and in good shape, the outdoor showers at the beach and pool were great, and in general the place was very well kept. The pool and tennis court were very fun and relaxing. We enjoyed having the pool on the other side of the building away from the beach because after spending all morning on the beach, it gave us a nice break from the wind. The location is the best: close enough to Ft. Walton and Destin to get groceries, go out to eat, shop, do the tourist stuff, etc.; but far enough away to feel calm and relaxed with less people and traffic. We plan to stay here again! "

Surf Dweller 402 is a GREAT place on Fort Walton Beach. Close to shops, restaurants, etc. Our only complaint would be the constant construction that was being performed to renovate other units. Seems like the HOA would regulate when those types of projects can be performed, for everybody's enjoyment. Make no mistake, we would recommend this unit to anyone."

"Fort Walton after Christmas stay
The view from the rental was amazing. There were no problems getting into the property and it was very clean and well supplied. The unit was a bit dated in furnishing compared to others that we have stayed in but the view was the main reason for the trip."

"Surf Dweller Vaca on the Beach!
We has a fantastic time at the Surf Dweller. The unit we rented was very nice. Loved the size of the balcony and it was nice to have the chaise lounge on the balcony as well. Really enjoyed listening to the waves with the slider open in the evening. Wish they provided hair dryers, extra toilet paper, paper towels and trash bags. Also, it wasn't that busy on the beach and we were told there were no more chairs. We did not understand this as we were told that we got 2 chairs and an umbrella with our room. We went back later in the day and asked that a chair set up be done for us, and the attendant was reluctant to do so. "

We had an awesome time at Ft. Walton. The condo was amazing. It was clean, neat, had lots of room, and a very well-stocked kitchen. The balcony was beautiful and when we were not at the beach or pool, we were out there. The furniture on the balcony was very comfortable. It was great to have the beach chairs and umbrella included with our stay. We truly enjoyed everything."

"Nice Condo!!
We really loved the condo, Surf Dweller 402. The only suggestion I would make is that there should be some blankets left. It got cool at night with the rain. The bathroom door in the hall stuck and when you opened it we thought someone had fallen.
The only thing that would have made our vacation better was sunshine and not rain the three days we had there.
I hope this unit will be available next time I decide to come to Fort Walton.

"A very good stay
The unit was very clean and comfortable. It has been a long time since we vacationed in Ft. Walton Beach and we have forgotten how beautiful it is on the beach. Traffic in the area for the weekend had a lot to be desired. everybody was so impatient. However the condo 402 at the Surf Dweller made up for all that. All-in-all it was a very good vacation."

"A wonderful place to stay at the beach
We couldn't have asked for a better place to view and enjoy the beach. The view of the beach and the beach access were outstanding. An elevator ride to the first floor, out the back entrance and across the ramp and you are on the beach. We received complementary use of a beach umbrella and chairs with our room which made use of the beach even more convenient. When not at the beach we enjoyed the comfort of the unit. It is very livable, as the couches and chairs are comfortable and offer a great view of the TV or the beach. The kitchen is beautiful and functional. There are utensils and dishes to fix and serve any meal you might want to fix for at least 6-8 people. But if you plan to cook, bring your own cleaning supplies. There was no dish detergent of any kind of cleaner to use on the counter tops or stove. There were only two pods for the dishwasher. Bring extra bath towels and personal soap and shampoo. There were only two of us because our guests had to cancel at the last minute and had there been four or more people there we would have definitely been short of towels. Also there is a glass accent table against the wall between the two bed rooms that is easy to run into so watch out for it. I finally placed a magazine on the corner so we would see it and not run into it. The shower in the master bath is very nice and romantic. The drains on all the plumbing were very slow so be patient. None of these minor distractions interfered with our enjoyment. We had friends that stayed at other facilities that weren't nearly as nice and who paid just as much or more than we did so I would highly recommend staying here. "

"Surf Dweller SD 402 - Week Vacation Stay
Our vacation and stay at the Surf Dweller was wonderful. The process to stop and register upon our arrival was friendly and quick. The condo was exactly as the picture. It was clean, roomy, and comfortable. The A/C worked fantastic...stayed nice and cool. The refrigerator ice maker works great. The only complaint I had was that the sheets on all the beds felt like sand paper...they were very rough...but we made do. The shower head stream was a challenge for me and my daughter, we both have a lots of real curly hair, so getting the shampoo and conditioner out took a very long time in the shower. We could not get the head to adjust to a stronger stream. Again, we made do. I would recommend the condo, I would go back...the view from the balcony is breath taking."
