The 100% cancellation loss can be avoided if: (1) Red Sky rental vacation insurance was purchased and the reason for cancellation is a reason covered under the travel insurance; or (2) Brooks and Shorey Resorts can re-rent the unit for the full term of the original rental period, in which case the guest will be charged 10% of the total paid as rebooking fee. Prior to arrival, if a guest has to shorten their stay or change their unit, normal cancellation penalties may apply, whether they are insured or not. Refunds issued by Brooks and Shorey Resorts will be issued no more than 30 days after departure date of original stay. Refunds are payable to the guest within 30 days after the subsequent re-rent payment has cleared our account.

"Great stay !
Super stay. Enough room, perfect view from balcony, easy walk to beach, wish I would have brought extra chairs they are over priced to rent everyday in my opinion. Not much to do right there for kids, but 15 min. around the corner in Destin there is plenty and it is easy to get to- other than traffic can get a little crazy. I would stay Gina in a heart beat though !!"

"Family vacation 2025
Great place! Well equipped condo with lots of space and storage. Only thing that should be replaced is the sofa bed. It was awful. Had to put the mattress on the floor. On July 4, the umbrellas around the pool should have been up. Even after we asked the desk, mid to late morning they said the pool maintenance people had left early. That wasn’t acceptable poor management. "

We didn’t catch the water at its best, but always love Okaloosa Island. The Condo was a plus. It was nicely decorated, and had very comfortable balcony seating! I would definitely rent again. "

"Islander Vacation
AWESOME. We have been coming to the Islander for many years and we have rented many Condos in the building and have never been disappointed. Our recent stay was great. The Condo was clean, comfortable and exactly what I expected. I loved the rocking chairs on the balcony. Our coffee maker was not working so I called and a new one was brought right away. Love the Islander resort, the view is second to none. Always visit McGuires Irish, The Donut Shop and Back Porch Restaurants in Destin. But always stay on Okaloosa Island at the Islander. Will be back again next year."

I highly recommend this condo! Islander 4005 was in excellent condition and one of the nicest condos in the Islander that we have stayed in! Only drawback was construction going on all week during our stay that was super loud and inconvenient, but overall would book here again! "

"Great vacation!
Our stay at The Islander was great! Our room was clean and beautiful. The view from the balcony was great. We enjoyed the patio furniture. It was clean and comfortable, just like home. The beds were comfy and perfect for our family of 5, two adults and three young kids. The kitchen was well stocked with all of the appliances and cookware we needed. Our only complaint is with the dryer. It seemed old. It was noisy and left rust stains on a few items. Overall our stay was wonderful! We will definitely book with Brooks and Shorey again. "

We always enjoy our stay at Islander 4005. The property is clean, tastefully decorated, and it has a great view of the gulf. Our compliments to the owners who continue to enhance the property with beautiful, modern upgrades! We enjoyed playing golf at Regatta Bay, which is one of the free amenities offered with this rental, and eating at Stewby’s just down the street! Great location. The check in/out process was easy and the property managers were very helpful. "

"Wonderful stay
We loved our unit. It was clean and well kept. The kitchen has any appliance, pan, or cooking utensil you could possibly need. The view is amazing. When checking in our room we noticed the back door lock was broken off. They had someone look at it right away and he was back the next morning to fix it! Everyone was very nice and efficient. My daughter left her wallet and we didn’t notice until we were too far to turn around. When we asked for them to mail it to us they immediately had the wallet and it was in the mail being sent back to us that afternoon! So thankful for their kindness! We will definitely be back! "

"Lovely place but a few things missing
We enjoyed our stay at The Islander 4005. The furniture is modern and comfortable and I found all the grounds people at the condo hardworking and friendly. At bedtime, the day we arrived, we discovered there were no blankets for the foldout bed and not enough blankets for the other rooms. We called the after hours number and a lovely employee helped us resolve the issue with some effort on her behalf. We appreciated her going the extra mile as well as her courteous manner. I’ve booked through Brooks and Shorey for years and highly recommend them. "

We had a box of consumables shipped ahead to the Brooks & Shorey office so that we would have less luggage; office was very happy to hold for us. "Solid Rental
Overall a good experience. The condo and complex are older but seem to be well maintained. The beach and water were excellent - really enjoyed being so close to the beach. The deck is nice sized and could easily fit 4 people. The unit seemed very humid. The AC works, but didn't seem to take any humidity out of the air in the condo. Overall was a good stay and would rent again."

"Great Location Fun
Nice location, good condo, BUT it was not cleaned well when we got there. There was sand on floors, dirty dishes, and we found an unopened bag of chips near the dresser in BR.
The staff was amazing who sold us the rental and were always nice and professional. However, I don't think the crew that cleans puts much effort out. We cleaned when we arrived. "

"Wonderful family vacation
This was our first trip to the Destin area, and we plan on returning yearly if possible. I would even say we will return to the same unit if available. We loved our experience. The staff was so nice and helpful, gave us some names of restaurants, things to do, and overall very helpful. Beds were comfortable, great water pressure in the showers, the unit was clean and beautiful, and the pool was ideal. The view was the best part. Will definitely go back! "

It was great!! The only thing that sucked was our original room that we requested flooded and we had to stay at two different buildings. It was a big group of us going! Our room was no where near as beautiful as the room we originally reserved but we made it work. Oh and the elevators kept going out !!"

"Very Nice Condo
My family was very satisfied with our stay at the Islander. The bathrooms could use some updating, but they were fine. The balcony could get loud sometimes because of how busy the pool was at night. Parking is great at this property with no issues. This condo is located on a quiet end of Fort Walton which was a great. We would stay here again. "

Our rental was perfect for our stay. It was clean and the newer furniture was great. It could use a few more updates and it seems a bit outdated, but the fact that it was clean made up for it. They provide plenty of extra beach toys and chairs. The view from the balcony was perfect, very peaceful. We would definitely stay here again. "

We absolutely loved The Islander condo. We had everything we needed, kitchen was very well stocked with whatever you needed to cook a meal. "Love this condo!!
This condo was perfect for us. We had 2 adult couples on the trip and all the 2 bedrooms I found had a master but the second room was twins or bunk beds. This condo has 2 king beds. Easy parking, easy access to the beach, free beach chairs/umbrella, great pool too. The area is much quieter than Destin. We drove to Destin for shopping at Destin Commons, some activities and night life. I will definitely be staying at this condo again. Management is very courteous and helpful."

"Business trip or vacation The Islander is a great place to lodge.
Over the past eight years I average staying at the Islander three to four week per year. The Islander is my choice in locations to lodge while visiting the Ft Walton Beach for either business or pleasure. I have had one bad experience which was about three years ago and unfortunately it was while on vacation, that was with a plumbing problem that required major work and I was offered a move to a different unit but it was the middle of the stay and I didn't want to spend time repacking and moving. Since that incident the condos have all been checked before I take occupancy and they have been great.
The management has always been very accomodating as to making reservations available when I need or want them."
