This condo is just perfect! Everyone will enjoy this cozy 1br, 2ba unit with great decor. Custom built bunk beds with TV's; extra storage room for organized coastal living. Pelican Isle 406 is adorable and classy - you won't want to miss it!

Conveniently featuring a fully stocked kitchen and a full size washer and dryer, Pelican Isle 406 has everything you need for the PERFECT VACATION! The adorable master bedroom is adorned with a king size bed and the master bathroom has a shower/tub combination. In the hallway, there are custom built bunk beds with TV's for the kids to enjoy! Storage compartments/shelves are featured at one end of the bunks and underneath the bottom bunk - plenty of room to store the kids' things for the week. A full second bathroom is in the hallway where a walk-in shower and custom vanity await. The property features a beachfront pool, hot tub, workout room, and BBQ grills. This fifth level view is uninterrupted in such a way that you have literally nothing in between you and the beautiful Gulf of Mexico.
The sleeping arrangements in this unit are as follows: master bedroom - 1 king bed. Bunk beds in the hallway. Sleeper sofa in the living room. This unit sleeps 6.

No refund if you cancel less than 14 days before check in.
The 100% cancellation loss can be avoided if: (1) Red Sky rental vacation insurance was purchased and the reason for cancellation is a reason covered under the travel insurance; or (2) Brooks and Shorey Resorts can re-rent the unit for the full term of the original rental period, in which case the guest will be charged 10% of the total paid as rebooking fee. Prior to arrival, if a guest has to shorten their stay or change their unit, normal cancellation penalties may apply, whether they are insured or not. Refunds issued by Brooks and Shorey Resorts will be issued no more than 30 days after departure date of original stay. Refunds are payable to the guest within 30 days after the subsequent re-rent payment has cleared our account.

"Last minute vacation!
Since the temperature was unseasonably warm, we booked a last minute stay at Pelican Isle in FWB. It was so quiet and peaceful there. The beach was empty and no long waits at restaurants. This brought back memories of being there in the fall over 30 yrs ago before the area was discovered. Our condo at Pelican Isle was very clean. Brooks & Shorey is a wonderful rental agency. We’ve booked thru them several times."

"Wonderful stay!
Love the location! Elevator troubles during stay, but everything else in building was great! Bring directly on the beach and chair service a big perk. Nice added touch of the beach chairs for use after beach service put away for the day! Clean, general kitchen supplies if not cooking a lot in the condo. Have stayed in this condo in 2016 and has had nice updates since then. Would stay here again."

"Family vacation
We have vacationed on Okaloosa Island about 7 or 8 times in the last 15 years. We love the island. And we always enjoy our stay at the Pelican Isle property. Our unit was clean. The kitchen was equipped (we enjoy cooking and not dining out every night). The beach service is excellent. We especially like Pelican Isle because you can choose your when you want to stay. It doesn’t have to be Saturday to Saturday like most resorts. We stayed Wednesday to Wednesday. "

"A Perfect Beach Stay
My husband and I rented Pelican Isle 406 to celebrate our anniversary. It was pretty, comfortable, and had a perfect view of the ocean! Loved our balcony! We were very pleased overall. We also love the condo’s location on the Okaloosa beach. It’s farther from the pier (almost to the closed military section), and so always seems less crowded than other parts of the beach.!
If you’re planning to do a lot of cooking, make sure you bring any special kitchen items you need from home, as the kitchen wasn’t super stocked. It worked just fine for us, though, as we ate most of our meals at our favorite seafood places! Yum!"

We enjoyed the view and the proximity to the beach. Complimentary beach chairs and umbrella were an awesome addition. Unit was not as clean as I would have hoped. Dishes were dirty. As far as the grounds were concerned, the pool, pool chairs, green space, and grilling area left much to be desired. Overall, we had a nice stay but might look for a location with better outdoor amenities next time. "

"Need an update
It is a one bedroom condo and it is small. the bathrooms are good and have a lot of space.THe bedroom is very small. The one closet was full of stuff and very little room for clothes. We had to leave our shoes on the floor in the bedroom. The mattress is very hard and so are the pillows.We had to use one of the bunk beds to put empty suitcases on. The kitchen could us some fry pans and new place mats for the table. Be careful when using the table because the glass top is not secured to table. I think the bedroom closet need to be cleaned out to make room for clothes."

"Fall Break Getaway
This was our first trip to the Island and we loved every minute of it. Overall the condo was great. We have never had this type of vacation before so spending this kind of money wasn’t easy. Except...we counted on the excursion that was offered as a freebie but it was a complete mess. The company that they use for the snorkeling dolphin cruise was completely unprofessional and after the run around all week they canceled our trip on our last day. But as long as your not counting on that as a reason you choose the condo it’ll be fine! The condo was mostly perfect. Lots of grit on counters and in cabinets but felt like sand. A few dirty dishes. Otherwise would I rent again? Yes, but plan things differently."

"Lovely unit and great complex
We've been coming to Ft. Walton/Destin area over 30 years and this complex is a favorite. Plenty of parking, speedy elevators and easy access to beach with no gate needing keypad entry/exit. Extremely quiet even with full parking lot. Friendly staff especially Joel and his partner setting up beach chairs. There were many people that were extremely nasty and rude to these guys but they always stayed kind and respectful.
This unit is beautiful and oozes relaxation. Living room comfortable for sitting around and kitchen stocked well.
The beds are another story. All were like laying on cardboard. We used to bring a padded mattress pad but hadn't needed it the last few rentals.
While the balcony set made from PVC pipe is trendy and cute it's not very comfortable for sitting in very long (we're not large people) and the table is too large to move around easily.
Over all this is a great unit we'd rent again but we'd bring bed and chair pads.

Pelican Island condo are always the best for the money. They are located on Okaloosa Island where it is not as crowded as the Destin area beaches. But, Destin is only 6 miles away where we go for dinner. The Gulf is the "same pond" as Destin but more peaceful."

We have been using Brooks and Shorey for many years now.
Always a great experience. This was our last vacation with my daughter before her wedding. The condo nor the beach was great. She loved all of the shelves in the bathroom. Also found a new place to eat. Lulus and cow head."

"NO PEACE
The condo was NOT cleaned properly, there was a smell of old mop or dirty mop water, the sofa was wet or damp I guess from the “cleaning” crew, the bathroom with the large shower was not cleaned properly.....for the amount of money charged cleanliness SHOULD NOT be an issue.. also loud obnoxious guest from a softball tournament were there right underneath our condo were just awful and carried on until late into the night/morning around 2am. We came to relax and have a peaceful stay!!!!"

"Rest and Relaxation Just What Was Needed

First I must say that Barbara was wonderful to work with. The condo was everything that the listing said it was....we were very happy with our stay. No problems at all. Quiet place almost at the end of Santa Rosa Blvd. The water at the sugary white sand beach was a beautiful blue color and when you got in you could see your feet while standing in waist to neck deep water. This was our first trip to Okaloosa/Fort Walton Beach and won't be our last. I'm sure we'll be returning in the future!"

A lot of the time there one of the elevators didn't work.
The microwave in the condo didn't seem to work - it lit up and spun but didn't heat. We didn't need it much so it was no big deal.

"Perfect Vacation

"Had fun!
The view was great it was quiet which was great for my family however,our cable didn't work which was a bit inconvenient at night.I also felt it could be cleaned a little better I had to wipe some spots off the master bathroom door and also their was socks and stuff under the bunk beds that wasn't ours no big deal though that was just some things I noticed overall we had a great time and even stayed an extra night!"

"Not What It Used To Be
As previous owners at Pelican Isle, we were very disappointed. While owners, we visited several times per year and have continued to stay here almost every year since. The entire building needed some cleaning. What happened to trash cans by elevators? This unit needs a thorough cleaning. Bare feet would become black after walking on floors. Housekeeping came up and did a once-over using plain water & washing mop out in kitchen sink! Yuck!! Had to have one toilet paper holder replaced as it was broken when we checked in. No room to unpack clothing – no hangers in closet, dresser drawers filled with extra pillows(of which there were too many). Had to purchase room air freshener due to fishy smell in condo. Glass dining table wobbly and was a hazard. Balcony furniture uncomfortable. TV was small for today’s standards. Walls had been repainted, but baseboards were dirty and never repainted. Smoking should also be allowed only in certain areas. It was difficult to even sit on the balcony without inhaling cigarette and nasty cigar smoke! We have always been proud to refer people to Pelican Isle, but this visit makes us question future referrals. Would we recommend? MAYBE"

We stayed in an Pelican Isle condo for a 4 night stay. Place was clean, had beach front view, and was really nice. We checked in after hours and the process was easy and clear, a breeze. The next morning when resarvation was finalized, process was smooth and clerk was extremely helpful. Over all a great stay and would do it again."

"Fantastic Family Vacation
Our family of 4 was extremely happy with this condo. Everything was clean and the beds were so comfortable. I was a little worried about the size of the bunk beds for my 14 year old son but they were plenty big enough. The kids loved that they each had a TV in their bunk with their own remote. All the TVs were flat screens and very nice. We did not use the sofa sleeper. The lady at the check in desk was great. We took advantage of the movie card and watched several good movies while on vacation. There were plenty movies to choose from and many current titles. We will definitely stay here again. "

We enjoyed our stay at PI406. The property was exactly as the pictures portrayed. The property was clean for the most part. The only minor things I noticed was the top electrical outlet in the living area was broken. The overhead vent in the master bath did not look like it had been cleaned for a while. The last day we were there, we could smell cigarette smoke when we sit out on the balcony. We will probably rent this property again if it is available.

The condo was great except when we would go outside on our balcony to enjoy the ocean. We had smokers in the balcony beside us and we were constantly smelling their cigarette smoke. "

The condo was awesome. Clean, everything you could need and the perfect location. The staff was great. We weren't suppose to check in until 4pm. We arrived at 10:30 and were able to go ahead to the beach. The front desk called me by 11 and had our room ready! We felt like we had an entire extra day by checking in so early. We will definitely stay there again next year!"

"March 2014 review
This was an excellent location. Beach was just a few steps away. Beach service was excellent. Unit was rather small. Lots of towels, but bed linens were poor. Many pillows, but most with no pillow cases. Sheets old and stained. Overall cleanliness of unit was below average. We liked the convenience of having a keypad for entrance rather than keys. Not sure what we would have done if electricity was out, as it was briefly during thunderstorms."

"Family Get Away prior to School Session
The property was very nice. Don't know if it is in all condo's but the sofa bed was quite uncomfortable....did not provide back support and sagged quite a bit. Also, in this particular property we found only two (2) pots.
It could have used a few more.
The beach condition was not favorable as it usually is; but, we attributed that to the weather which brought in so much seaweed.
Also chairs on patio were not comfortable, in fact two (2) of the guests fell due to the pvc piping not being secured. No injuries thank goodness. "

The overall property was okay. The pool could use lights for night swimming. Our room was not very clean. My son slept on the pull out couch and it was filthy underneath. Some of the dishes had lipstick stains so we had to wash everything before we used it. I will more than likely not stay here again."

"Rainy day vacation
Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate and we ended up spending more time than we had hoped in our condo. So we were thankful for such a nice place. Very comfy beds! The kids and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the flat screen TVs. Location is perfect! Right on the beach. Elevators are clean and easily accessible. We had an issue with the lock on our balcony and they came to fix it within the hour. Vey helpful and friendly staff. This is our second year at Pelican Isle and I would definitely recommend it! One thing we were concerned with is there is not much room for seating at the pool, but we were always able to find an available chair. "

The unit was nicely furnished and decorated. The view was great. The staff were all very pleasant. Unit was clean except that the floor was not swept...just sandy in some spots, not dirty, but hey it's at the beach! Flat panel TVs in living room, bedroom and even at the foot of each bunk bed. Very large corner shower in second bathroom made it easy to clean up from the beach. Wireless internet was very fast. Having two chairs and an umbrella at the beach was a great plus. We loved the place and would stay there again. "

When we moved in, the lamps, shelves etc. were dusty and when my wife cleaned the floor, she got a lot of dirt up. This is the 2nd time we have used this condo and really like the location. If we needed anything, the front desk and service were very responsive. We loved the front facing balcony as we had sun all day and the beach views were great."

"Great condo, poor mgmt
I booked through Brooks and Shorey Resorts, Inc. (B&S) for a condo to spend an off-season anniversary week. The unit provided was personally recommended by the B&S staff. Checked in and there was not any normal basics (paper towels, clothes hangers, etc.). More importantly, maintenance and painting were going on to the balcony and front door. Nobody told us anything ahead of time. Why? We found out by the signs in the elevator that it would be for the weekend. We had all the balcony furniture piled in the living room (very crammed), and the windows/sliding glass door to the balcony were covered (couldn't see out), nor could we use the balcony. If we opened the door, we had maintenance folks on scaffolding staring in. A balcony overlooking the beach is why folks book these condos - right? The weekend was over, and then we find a new sign that says they are going to now paint the balcony and we can't use it for the remainder of the week! The fumes were nauseating. When we brought it up to the B&S staff, we were basically ignored, no obvious care for the customer whatsoever! We understand the need for maintenance. Don't book it to people while it is going on, and certainly tell them what is being planned and offer an alternative. Our week was a huge disappointment when it didn't need to be. The B&S staff is probably fine, so long as you never have a problem for them to actually manage. They were unprofessional and I will never book with them again."
