Cancellations to any reservation results in forfeiture of $200.00 advance rent deposit. Changes to the booking have to be made Thirty (30) days prior to arrival for Short Term reservations. Sixty (60) days prior to arrival for Monthly reservations. Once final balance is paid there are NO REFUNDS due to cancellation. The pool is in the front of the complex rather than behind which meant no screams and splashes below our balcony at all hours. The walkway to the beach was well maintained and has several wash stations to clean sandy feet before going back to the condo. This was really nice as it minimized the wait when groups were heading in around the same time. One set of beach service (one umbrella, two chairs) was included in the rental. A utility closet in the condo had a sign saying there were two beach chairs enclosed. Apparently someone helped themselves to the beach chairs (boo), but someone had left two boogie boards which we used all week and left in the closet for the next guests. The condo itself is very spacious and well laid out. It is located near the stairs and elevator bank which at first concerned me, but ended up being very convenient and we honestly did not hear any noise even from the second bedroom which looks out to the front. The kitchen was very well stocked with any cooking implement you could ask for. The in-condo washer and dryer were used daily - the laundry room was in the front off the kitchen so the sound was minimized. The master slider to the balcony was stuck which was slightly disappointing but not the end of the world. The garbage disposal had issues during our stay and the dishwasher stopped working after the first day. That was a little more inconvenient and despite contacting AJH a couple of times the dishwasher issue was not resolved before our departure. However, it didn’t spoil our time with family and overall this was a fabulous stay. " Aug 18, 2024 - , Grimes, IA "Summer at Surf Dweller The condo was a convenient location to beach, pool, restaurants, grocery store, and activities. It was also convenient to the elevator just 3 flights up so quick to the beach, on-site gym, and pool. This may seem small but it’s so appreciated when vrbo’s stock the kitchen with items such as paper towels and hand soap even if it’s generic, inexpensive items, as well as a small can of coffee. Please consider this in lieu of “free” activities (see next paragraph) for future guests to avoid a grocery store run right when you arrive. The link to activities only worked for gulfarium. We tried it for other “first ticket free” vendors on the explori website. one of the vendors (wild willy go cart) said they weren’t familiar with that and wouldn’t honor the free ticket even though the website showed their business on it. The other vendor that we tried was parasailing. It showed multiple availability but check-out returned error saying no availability. The vendor said they’d check into the availability issue but, wouldn’t honor the free ticket. I saw other reviews have a less than favorable experience with the “free” activities program, also. The owner/property manager may consider investing that $ into more amenities in the condo itself. For example, allowing the thermostat to be set at 70. The 72 requirement is not comfortable temperature when sleeping. Or, add some beach towels and additional beach chairs, body boards (we left ours at the condo for others to enjoy), and sand toys, etc. for the kids. The free beach service is nice but only accommodates 2 chairs yet the condo can accommodate 6 people. See previous comment about adding more beach chairs for the condo. Other than that our stay was wonderful! Note, the last several years the beach guy was very kind and treated everyone the same. He went out of his way to help people. I called the management, but they claimed it was non-smoking. I would stay at that complex, but never again in room 307. I am also cautious about the advertising and posting of the owners and or agent. I would have selected differently had there been full disclosure. We use to go each year with the our kids. The kids are now all grown and finally we were able to all go again. Each time we have a different room but always perfect. Wouldn't ever go any where else and wouldn't rent from anyone but Alicia. They make the whole experience easy and comfortable. The condo had everything we needed to keep us comfortable. Location is perfect quite and peaceful. Just a short drive to all the tourist things if wanted and close to grocery store also. The only problem with this area is it since it is so north you really need to go later in spring in order to be comfortable outside on the beach. Temps are much cooler here. Coming from MI and have a long cold winter late April is when it starts to warm up in MI and also there. So stinks to leave home for vacation when it is finally turning around in MI. But love the powdery white sand and aqua water. Hope to be able to go back a again someday unfortunately it will probably be the last time with all my kids. The only other feedback I have was that there was a coffee maker but no filters or even papertowels to make one with, but this could have just been an oversight on the part of housekeeping. There was dishwasher detergent, trashbags, tp & plenty of linens, pillows, towels, cookware, dishes, etc. Grocery store is nearby and a lot of fun family friendly places to go out to eat and watch the surf, we tried both Angler's and the Crab Trap and enjoyed both, but Angler's was my favorite as far as food and ambience.
