The 100% cancellation loss can be avoided if: (1) Red Sky rental vacation insurance was purchased and the reason for cancellation is a reason covered under the travel insurance; or (2) Brooks and Shorey Resorts can re-rent the unit for the full term of the original rental period, in which case the guest will be charged 10% of the total paid as rebooking fee. Prior to arrival, if a guest has to shorten their stay or change their unit, normal cancellation penalties may apply, whether they are insured or not. Refunds issued by Brooks and Shorey Resorts will be issued no more than 30 days after departure date of original stay. Refunds are payable to the guest within 30 days after the subsequent re-rent payment has cleared our account.

Perfect view and condo spotless. Only issues were the ice maker not working even after having maintenance work on it. Had to big bags of ice for the week.
Couch cushions could use filling.

The condo was just as described. Beds were comfortable, condo was clean with everything needed, and oceanfront view was wonderful. The living room furniture is beginning to show some wear, but that is to be expected with a rental. The beach was not crowded, and having the chairs/umbrella provided was a plus. The rental company was very nice, quick to respond, and provided all the information needed. We were also able to check in 2 hours early. Will definitely return."

We loved the large balcony where we relaxed and enjoyed the Gulf views. The property and unit were very clean. The photos of the unit were accurate. The condo had large rooms. We’ve stayed at many properties along Fort Walton Beach and this condo had the largest rooms. We will definitely stay here again "

This was our second time to stay in this unit. We love the location, unit is very spacious and has everything we need. They provide all of the information you need prior to arriving and for departure using their app. This time we had a problem with the A/C unit- I notified them on Saturday and it was resolved on Tuesday- luckily the weather was cooler so we didn’t really need it. Everything was clean but I would say maybe the living area furniture could use a deep cleaning. We love all of the options for seating outside! We can easily watch the sun rise and set from there. Hope to return in the future. "

Beautiful unit with a great view of the gulf. There were 4 adults staying in the unit and there was plenty of room for all of us. The unit was clean & well equipped with kitchen items, books & puzzles, beach items, etc. The only negative is the pool being on the street side of the building. It would have been better on the gulf side of the building."

We loved the condo! When we first walked in we were greeted by a fulous welcoming smell. It was clean and very homey. The views from the huge deck were so beautiful to wake up to. The location is great, as it is close to multiple dining options and a short drive to Destin. We especially loved having the pool to relax in. The only thing that was a minor inconvenience was that the dryer took a couple rounds to get the clothes dry, but really wasn’t a big deal. Overall a fabulous place for our kids to experience the beach for the first time."

Condo was really nice. Loved the big balcony to sit and enjoy my early morning coffee and late evening. Rental company was great. The only negative was the sleeper sofa. It was horrible! I don't see how any one could sleep on it. We had to take pillows and put under the cushions and I just slept on the couch. It really needs to be replaced if you are going to advertise it as a sleeping option to guest."

This was our second time at this condo the surf dweller. Our 5th visit to fort Walton in the past 3 years. We love this place. The condo was very nice and comfortable. So close to the beach. The location was great, the beach was pristine and the service was just very friendly and helpful. The condo was spacious and comfortable. The only thing I would change is the sofa. It was worn and uncomfortable if sitting longer than 15 minutes.
The restaurants in the area were very good and loved visiting the “Gulf”. Visited several in Destin that were outstanding."

"Nice, Clean Condo on Fort Walton Beach
The condo was very clean and pretty. The beds and furniture were extremely comfortable. There was a great view of the ocean from the balcony. The only issue was there were no blankets. We have never stayed in a condo that didn't have blankets/extra blankets."

"Beautiiful View and Awesome Accessibility
This was a beautiful oondo with lots of space for the six of us.(adult couples and teenage boys) The view and the location were fantastic. Because of the size of the property and the surrounding properties our beach had a very manageable crowd. Beach chairs were set up in one row vs bodies everywhere. The condo itself was very updated and well furnished. However, unlike many condos I have stayed at in the past, you must bring EVERYTHING. From coffee filters to toilet paper to laundry detergent to beach toys. This particular condo had dishes and silverware and that was about it. Also, the pool is STREET SIDE not beach side. This was pretty disappointing to us because we love the ocean but don't necessarily like swimming in the June grass, algae and getting targeted by the tiny jelly fish. Also, there are NO amenities at this property except the pool and beach chairs."

"Great Stay
My family and I LOVED Surf Dweller 208!! As soon as you walk in the door, the first thing you see is a beautiful view of the ocean. The whole back wall of the unit is floor to ceiling glass doors and the view is spectacular!! The unit was beautiful, clean, updated, welcoming and inviting. The decor was beach themed, but it was not over the top. We felt at home the minute we walked in the door. We had 6 adults there and we had plenty of room and did not feel cramped at all. The building was clean and attractive. We did not hear any noise during our whole stay unless we were on the balcony. And even then, no one was loud. You could just hear people talking. But none of us even paid attention with the view of the ocean and the sound of the waves. This was the best vacation I have ever had, hands down. I am so envious of the owners of this condo!! I truly did not want to leave. You will not be disappointed if you stay here. I loved it, words just can not describe how wonderful it was. "

"Great Home Away from Home
SD 208 is a wonderful unit. Plenty of space, comfortable beds, lots of sitting room, great bathrooms, stocked kitchen, and the unit and property are VERY clean. The view from the balcony is breathtaking. We spent every extra moment sitting in the comfortable chairs outside watching the dolphins play in the ocean. The Wi-Fi worked great with multiple tablets in use at the same time. Also, the bonus of having beach chairs available to you for free is awesome. If you wake up early the staff will let you claim your umbrella so you get a good spot for whenever your ready to have your beach time. Booking with Brooks and Shorey was a breeze. The staff was so nice from beginning to end and they made checking in and out a breeze. There is no key to keep up with and you can do a mobile checkout. SO EASY! I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for a comfortable vacation space with beautiful views of the ocean. "

"INCREDIBLE Vacation Property
This property exceeded our expectations. It looks like it does in the picture only so much roomier and the views are incredible. Perfect for families or couples. Ideal location, felt very safe, extremely quiet. Was very clean, had everything we could need. Brooks and Shorey was so great and easy to work with. We loved the perks we got such as the Dolphin Cruise on the Seablaster (that is a must!). We definitely will use Brooks and Shorey again and visit this location in the future. Highly recommend."

Our recent stay in Surf Dweller 208 was wonderful!! Very Nice everything we needed was there. The only thing was they were redoing the balcony floors so we could not go outside. We were notified two weeks prior and given a choice of a discount or to cancel. Well obviously we couldn't cancel so close to our vacation time because that was the time we had off from work which had been scheduled two months prior. It was my mother in laws first time ever to see or be on the beach. It would have been nice to use the balcony. We of course took the discount. We watched the men work and also watched Dolphins out the windows during our stay. Very very nice stay will defiantly stay here again I just hope they don't decide to redo balcony a next time. Very poor timing. "

"A great and relaxing vacation.
We loved the place, the view, the large balcony, the spacious clean rooms and the balcony furniture. Yes, the balcony furniture, specifically the high chairs that allowed us to look unobstructed at the great view and not look through the railing. This may be a small thing to some, but it was a big deal to me because we started our day before daylight sitting on the balcony enjoying a nice hot coffee and watching the day come to life.
It was a very short walk from the condo (Surf Dweller 208) to the beach where our beach chairs and umbrella were waiting for us. There were rest rooms just inside the breeze way just seconds from the beach also. It was also nice to be able to park my truck with my Sea Kayak on top under the Tennis Court in the shade as there was just enough clearance for both.
Check in at Brooks and Shorey was quick and easy. The gift package was a nice addition as all the contents were handy at the beach.
Great location, great place, we recommend it.

"Hot Vacation
Had stayed at Surf Dweller several other times. However, none of the other visits were in the summer so was surprised by the 105 plus heat index several days the second week of our stay. Having the free beach umbrella and chairs was great! Also,the gulf was not clear like other times, so used the pool which was well maintained.
The unit was roomy like all Surf Dweller units. Overall, it was very clean. However, the dining area carpet was stained, most of the pots and pans had burned on food on them, and the exterior of the microwave was greasy. When this was reported, staff came and replaced the pots and pans and cleaned the microwave. There were also several maintenance issues that were not readily apparent that we reported. They were promptly resolved. The Brooks and Shorey staff was friendly and the maintainence staff knowledgeable.
The only issue not promptly resolved was the units WiFi. It was several days before we had a good connection. The Surf Dweller Association was responsible for this problem. Since one of us had a programming contract that had to be extended, we were not pleased.

"Home away from home!
My wife and I enjoyed the luxury, comfort, convenience and awesome view of our Surf Dweller beachfront unit. The furrnishings were very comforting and most adequate. We really appreciated the quietness of our unit. Neighbors were friendly and helpful. Twice we shared the BBQ grills with nearby dwellers. All in all, we relaxed in safety and enjoyed our time to the fullest. As a matter of fact we booked for next year before heading home."

I was extremely skeptical about my stay as usual advertisements for beach front are usually untrue. But this place has a gorgeous view and is on the beach. It is well maintained and the management company very professional. Even though pricey, it is worth the trade-off of having to deal with lots of people in a hotel. Ideally located and available parking. Out door pool kept up nicely. Overall stay a pleasure."

"Over satisfacion
We have been coming to the Surf Dweller for over 20yrs. And in those 20yrs we have experienced at most 2 unsatisfying occasions with the agency. The over all satisfaction over rules the issues. We have tried 2 other locations in the past one one just this past weekend... and by far they are no comparisons to the Surf Dweller. Thank you Brooks & Shorey for making it a pleasure to deal w/ you this past week. The only down side was that when we booked the unit initially I was told we could book a Saturday to Saturday or Sunday to Sunday. And noticed when I tried to book one more night that units had been booked for 3-4 nights. And wasn't informed of unit 211 being available for this past Saturday night. So we stayed at another complex and had an unpleasant experience. "

Rental is awesome. Clean and well stocked with a wonderful balcony overlooking the beach. Santa Rosa Blvd. sidewalks are inadequate for walking on most days with no room for bicycling except for in traffic. As a snowbird this is a huge shortcoming."

Everything was perfect about SD208 condo. It was very clean when we arrived. Very comfortable furniture and beds. Loved being able to see the beach from the den, kitchen and laying in the master bedroom! Quick, easy access to beach. Nice patio furniture, high chairs to see over rail and table with 4 chairs! Big comfy couch, very nice when we watched movies at night. Air conditioner worked very good so we slept good. Kids loved the swimming pool too and it was SO nice to be able to look out the laundry room window and be able to see them in the pool!! Perfect view to beach and pool! We will definitely return to 208. We're happy to have found the perfect condo! Owner has done a great job making it comfortable and clean. "
