- The minimum age requirement for reserving and check in is 25. A signed rental agreement with the host and a copy of the contracting guest's drivers license is required
- This is a PET-FRIENDLY RENTAL. Pet fees are an additional $20.00+tax, per pet, per night. A maximum of 3 pets are allowed, a pet-cleaning fee is also charged, which is $50 for stays of 7 days or less, $75 for stays of 8-29 days, and $100 for stays of 30 or more days.

Problems from the beginning, upstairs bathroom won’t flush, water leak from up stairs bathroom down to the kitchen area. Maintenance guy said they have been having issues but they just want to do quick fix instead of proper repairs. Upside was it was close to pool entrance."

"Perfect Family Vacay Spot
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Harpers Berry. The home actually felt larger than the pictures. There was plenty of space for all 10 of us to hang out and visit. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of dishes, utensils and pans. The pool was right outside our back door, which was awesome. The beach was just a quick drive. "

"Nice House But Not Everything Promised
When we arrived, checkin was very easy and access instructions were text to me in a timely manner. I noticed when we walked in that the back door had a screen laying against it. I walked around to see why because we were promised a screened in patio by the pool. The patio screens were all torn down and there were boards and nails everywhere. I was shocked. I immediately had my husband come and help me clean up the boards with sharp exposed nails and all the other nails off the ground so our children didn’t get hurt. Maintenance was quick to come and clean up the mess but it didn’t help the situation of now no screened in porch. The rest of the house was clean and nice besides a set of fake eyelashes and an earring was found in one of the beds. I never got a response to this. Later that first evening people took showers in the guest bath and the ceiling below started flooding. Management said this was probably due to splashing water outside of the shower. I thought this was not only rude of them to say, but ridiculous as the flooding was pouring through the roof. I took video for proof. After all the first day drama, the rest of the stay was nice. Checkout was easy. If they can fix the problems we encountered it would be ani e place to stay. "

"Great place to stay!
I loved the house, big spacious, they provided all the kitchen ware which I was surprised and even had a spice rack. The rooms were clean, beds were comfy and everything was clean when we got there. The only down fall I didn't like was the entrance to the house, the AC in the way and a big bush I feel needs to be trimmed so you have a walk way to get in. Also the pool was a little dirty, it had hair, dead bugs & spiders- We went in and walked out and went to our friends pool, that was the only thing.
The house is great! Close to everything. "

"Relax, Refresh, and Unwind
This was our first stay at this property and I have to say that our group had a wonderful time! There was plenty of space to gather for meals and game time but also enough room to spend a quiet moment. We enjoyed the convenience of having a semi-private pool and the close proximity to the beach (less than 7 minutes). The house was clean and the kitchen contained all that we needed to prepare our meals. Check-in and check-out were a snap and when we did have to call maintenance after hours, they were pleasantly polite and professional and arrived in a timely manner. The issue was resolved in a short amount of time and we continued our visit with no other issues. The screens on the patio need some attention but overall we would definitely recommend this property to friends and family!"

"The house was okay.
Even though the place was well stocked, the blender was broken. I had to go to another house and borrow theirs. I could not grill my burgers on Friday or Ribs, chicken and sausage on Saturday. The grill was so dirty wished I took a picture. This is the 2nd time this has happened at our Beach house experience. On the third day we noticed that the bath room rugs were in the closet, it would have been nice to have these out on our first day of our visit. Please feel free to add my name for the review. "Lovely house!
This house was perfect for our family. We cook a lot and the spacious kitchen was fantastic!
Highly recommend the house for large families.
The only thing we didn’t like was the fact that we could hear everything throughout the house like it has “thin walls”. Our teenagers like to stay up late and are kind of loud so we had to shut them down early which was no big deal to us :)
It would not keep us from staying there again. "

"Great house, great location, responsive service
We originally reserved the house next door to this one and were a little worried when we were told they had to move us to another rental. We should not have been. This house is laid out really well, was very clean, right next to the pool, and the location allowed us to walk to most of our favorite restaurants. The beach is maybe a 3 minute drive.
We had one minor maintenance issue with a doorknob, but the management sent somebody almost immediately and had a new doorknob installed within an hour or two, so no complaints there.
Also, we were there during a pretty dead week (and a cold one), so I can't say it is always this way, but the neighborhood was very calm and quiet. We enjoyed sitting in the covered porch area at night and having a drink while the kids played inside.
All in all, we were very happy with our stay and will definitely be renting again.
PS if you stay make sure to enjoy Beach and Station Street Grill just a 5 minute walk to the North. Best fried seafood ever.

"A little disappointed
As soon as we got to the house the power was out. No one at Port A Escapes bothered to notify us to let us know that the whole island was without power nor did they bother to call and as if they could be of any help due to this inconvenience. Someone could've at least called to check on us. Also, the screen on the back patio was not properly installed and the wall was dirty up high. Other than that the house was very clean. There wasn't a grill at this home. "

"Furniture needs an update.
Great location. A good overall stay. The negative things were the furniture and master bed. The couch is so bad that it could not be used. It needs to be replaced. The master bedroom bed mattress is very poor. It is low, soft, and uncomfortable. Also the cooking utensils were in poor shape. Good parking and pool atmosphere was enjoyable. Nice TVs, but no DVD player. "

Port A Escapes needs to get with the times and avoid the cattle call for check in like Turnkey. Codes need to be emailed upon completion of cleaning to avoid craming into the little room with the real estate agent."

"Yearly Family Trip
Harpers Berry is a sweet spot . Its a light , airy , fun space .Lovely bedrooms , cozy beding . Great bathtowels , and plenty of them !! Kitchen well stocked with anything you need for cooking. "Still love Sunrise Cottages
This is my third rental in the Sunrise Cottages complex. I am a huge fan of the complex and the design of the houses in the complex. the pool is soooo great to have right there and it's always clean. As far as the unit itself, it was the least well-appointed of the three. The mattresses weren't as nice and the couch wasn't as nice, but it had the screened in porch, which was a great addition, and it had what we needed. The management company was responsive - smoke detectors were beeping and the kitchen didn't have kitchen towels or scissors. The maintenance guys were great - super quick and friendly. I would stay here again, but Unit 6 would be my first pick and Unit 9 would be my second."

"Great location, Comfortable Rental
Harper's Berry was very nice and clean. There was plenty of room for 8 adults, 1 toddler and a small dog! The one thing I would change is the size of the pool. The pool that is shared with the other houses is small and there is a 15 person limit for the pool. So, when every rental is full, there's a lot of people trying to get in. "

Really great place. Sleeping accommodations were just as described. Towels were bare minimum, we had 9 people registered and only 10 towels for a 4 day stay. Same problem with the toilet tissue. The kitchen is nice, however only 2 small sauce pans and 2 small skillets were the extent of the cookware. Even with these minor issues we would stay here over and over! The management company is very professional, but not prepared to deal with issues that arise on the weekends!"

"Great stay with minor issues
The house was great, and perfect for four couples. The only thing I have to complain about is the fact that the downstairs gets really hot during the day and even evenings. They didn't put in a separate AC unit for downstairs to the upstairs gets very cold wall downstairs stays pretty hot. The icemaker also didn't work so we had to keep bags of ice on hand all weekend, which was an annoyance. The location really is perfect!"

The house was not well furnished. It lacked adequate seating in the main family room. And with only a rug on concrete floors, it wasn't comfortable sitting on the floor. There were no lamps in the living area, so we were forced to use the main overhead lights all the time. The bedrooms had lamps, but none of the bulbs worked.
The main positives were full-sized beds and TVs in all 4 bedrooms, although the beds and pillows weren't very comfortable. The garage was nice for storing our fishing gear. The HVAC worked well, and there was ample parking in front of the house."

We love the location of this rental, the space it provides and the pool. This is our second time staying there for the 4th of July. Having said that, this year, some of the furniture was damaged, the sound system we used last year for music was gone and when we showed up, there was shrimp bait left in the garage, which left a horrific smell. The policy states there is a fine for leftover trash. I'm surprised the cleaning crew didn't dispose of the leftover bait. Next year we may try a different unit. "

Nice clean home with community pool access. Updated furnishings are nice.... professionally decorated. Couch extremely uncomfortable to sit in and need replacing. Fully stocked kitchen but bring your own pans to cook in if you are picky. House has everything you need, just wish it was closer to beach. Suggest renting a golf cart when you get there!"

We hosted a family reunion at the surise cottages and we stayed at the Harper's Berry condo. It was our third stay here although non off the family had ever stayed at any of the condos before. The rental was beautiful! As soon as we pulled up I knew it would be great. The garage was convenient. The pool was so much fun and area was clean! We swam most of the time! Overall the house was nice and I would stay again. The only downside would be that the porch furniture was in poor condition, dirty, and not usable. Also, the walls were covered in dirty handprints both upstairs and down. Although the house could have been cleaner we enjoyed the room, location, and decor. The property management company was very friendly and went out of their way to stay late to give us the keys when we were delayed due to the ferry wait. "

"A few complaints, but good stay
I would have liked to have had things like salt, pepper, washing detergent (only enough for more than one load), available at the condo.
We had to go buy these and used very little. It would be nice if it was there for everyone. The other thing lacking was bath towels.
We would have appreciated the option to get more if needed.
I have to admit the place did not look quite as clean as last year. The furniture on the back porch is molded and rattan is busted up - I did not want to sit on that furniture. Back door was moldy, needed to be cleaned.
When I called for key bc I got locked out when husband went fishing and friend went to beach, I was told I would have to pay 25.00 just to borrow the key to unlock the door. I think it should be free if I pick it up and bring the key back to you. I didn't appreciate that!
Otherwise we enjoyed our stay. Beds are comfy.

This rental was great. The only issues were a broken grill (that we tried multiple times/ways to fix) and a DVD player that didn't work on the main TV downstairs. There were also holes in the walls in several rooms upstairs and marker written near them. Not a problem but not something we did. We would stay again but maybe in another unit in same complex."

"Review of Harper's Berry
As you can see, I gave everything a 5 star rating except for the amenities., primarily in the kitchen and living room. The kitchen is not very well furnished---the pots and pans are deplorable and the silverware very cheap. Fortunately I brought my own fry pan and I had a friend bring down my silverware. The couch is very uncomfortable --especially for a month stay. I wished I had access to a vacuum cleaner for the rug during the month. "Great for Families
We had a great time at this house and stayed for almost 2 weeks. We have little ones, so the stairs were a little scary (pretty steep and the landing is concrete). We put up our baby gates on their bedroom doors and the landing and it worked pretty well. It's a great set up with a screened in porch and plenty of space inside. Beds are comfy and there's a King in the master...woo hoo! Decor is cute ;-) Walking distance to shopping, restaurants and grocery store. "

"Port Aransas Family Get Away
We loved the location, close to grocery, shops,tennis courts and beach. All in walking distance of house. Our only complaint was
that it was advertised with 2 bicycles and
one of the bikes was broken when we arrived. The bikes were part of the reason we chose it. The house was well equipped and clean

"Summer Vacation
The rental was great only down side was the outside shower was capped off and did not have a shower head. Would have been nice to rinse off the sand before entering the house. Other than that everything was very clean and we would stay in this rental again. "

"Fantastic Port A Experience
This was our first time to vacation in Port A - the property is very clean, nicely furnished, the neighbors were fun, the pool was fantastic.
The only problem we had was the propane bbq grill was delapidated and unusable (not to mention the cost of a propane tank!) I think they should replace it with a charcoal grill. The bike had a broken sproket and the trash can was missing. Over all it was a great experience."

"A great house for our family trip
This house was great! After unloading my kids begged to get in the pool, it was great that the pool was right out the back door. The pool area has lots of chairs and a great big covered area that my grandma enjoyed sitting under. It was very convenient that I could open the blinds and watch my kids swim. The house was very clean and beds were comfortable. The only complaint was that outside shower was covered up with a cover so we couldn't use it. We then looked for a hose but the only hose we could find was a soaker hose. Since that wouldn't work, we borrowed the neighbors hose so we could spray off all of our beach stuff. The neighbors were super nice as well. Also, the big trash can that should have been outside was missing. We used the big dumpster that was down the road a bit. Overall it was a great weekend and we would definitely stay here again."

"Loved staying here! Fun decor and great locale.
Nice cottage with fun, modern decor. Really appreciate the fact that this unit is pet friendly and you can also use their one car garage. Great locale where you can ride your bike or golf cart to the store, shops,restaurants, etc.. Love the fact that the pool area is QUIET most of the time and people here respect the curfew. (we used to own a coastal unit elsewhere where other rental co's. didn't enforce the pool curfew and you'd have people partying til the morning hrs) If you want a great family place stay here, you'll love it. "

"Cheery comfort near the beach!
This brand new construction is made for good times! The 4 bedroom condo is fresh, super clean, with touches of bright decor. Lots of windows make it seem even bigger and the fully detached layout makes it feel like home. We love the location; bike to beach, stores and the best neighborhoods in town. We want one! "

"Staying at Harpers Berry 5/27-6/2/11
We really enjoyed our stay at Harpers Berry. The home was in brand new condition. It was centrally located to the beach and town stores, 2 blocks from the grocery store. The pool was a very nice ammenity. There were some areas of improvement needed though; construction still in progress on adjoining homes began at 8am everyday, lack of sidewalk upto front door, sewer pipe risers coming up out of commonsidewalks 3' to trip over, an overflowing construction dumpster to put garbage in, lack of garbage bags and toilet paper at home. Overall our stay was fine, it did appear that this home was rushed from construction to vacation rental for Memorial weekend."

"Since we were the first people to stay here, we were somewhat nervous. The builder did come by and reassured us to enjoy ourselves. Which we did.
I personally would never put white furniture in a rental home. The home was lovely and decorated nicely. This is our 13th year coming to do Beach to Bay with our family, so we always look forward to it! We did notice one of the white chairs had a tear in it and also the rug in the kitchen was not clean, I did call and I did express my concerns about this upon our arrival. "
