"Disappointed
I've used VRBO for several trips and this is the first disappointing experience. The pictures were not very accurate. The A/C was not working very well and was very warm, humid and uncomfortable. There were live and dead roaches in the room. Did not stay the 2nd night and cut the trip short. Very disappointed and hope to get some type of refund. Will use VRBO again but will not stay at this property again. "

"Wonderful place to stay
Great location! I was extremely happy and wanted to stay longer. The only thing I had wished they had had was a blow dryer since that’s what hotels have and I didn’t get email clarifying there wasn’t one until I had already left my home since we stopped in San antonio on way to Port A. I had to buy beach toys and laundry detergent for our stay but was so thankful we had the washer and dryer. It was so nice being just a short walk to the beach. "

"Sandfest Getaway
As the title indicates, my wife and I went to Port A to attend Sandfest 2022. This was our third stay in Port A and our second arranged thru Port A Escapes. The condo was perfect for two people (bunk beds for 2 more), was clean and neat, and had everything we needed. Can’t say enough good things about Port A Escapes and their wonderful staff. Would also like to give a shoutout to Island Outfitters for their cart rental service...Outstanding!!!"

This unit perfectly met our needs for our 2 week Port A is an easy walk to the beach and is only a very short drive to the beach.The unit has comfortable furniture. It has a full kitchen.We looked forward to taking our showers. The plastic bench is handy. The bed was comfortable. The pool was refreshing and the poolside chairs were a good place to relax. The units back porch could use 2 chairs for reading and relaxing in the evening. The grills by the back doors were in good shape. The front porch furniture was a great place to eat or read early or late in the day. I broke one of the chairs. The unit was clean and well stocked. We would love to rent this unit again. It was a great base for a wonderful vacation."

The unit is in a great location and has everything you need. Nice little touches everywhere. There is a musty odor and a smell of cigarette smoke that never went away. The unit was very clean except the a/c and bathroom vents. I have to believe that regular cleaning would help freshen the smell as the air conditioning blows through. We enjoyed our stay."

We enjoyed the unit. It's our second time here. The bed is comfortable and the location is great. A couple of opportunities for enhancement of the experience. The biggest by far is that the blinds in the living room, and on the front door which is glass do not open. You have to sit in a dark, closed in room when you're at the beach. Lesser is the TV. There were four remotes and the TV was difficult to use. An even lesser thing, for the cheap price of soap, you should provide it as you did with so many other helpful items. We didn't bring any and never went to a store (Corona). All in all, it was a positive experience."

Visible signs that interior work needs to be done within the walls of this condo including replacing air vents and fixing leaks. Black mold was spotted in the kitchen in the bathroom and in the hallway near the intake air vent. The smell in this condo was very unpleasant. A combination of mothballs and mold. "

"Overall, a pretty good stay.... but probably wouldn’t return.
The best thing about this condo was the location, just a short walk to the boardwalk with direct access to the beach. Pool was also very nice and clean. There was a mildewy smell in the unit that I traced back to a pillow in the closet that needed to be thrown out. I would have liked to have seen a few ceiling tiles replaced (looked dirty/mildewy) and some new sets of shades. I understand the property probably suffered a bit of damage from Hurricane Harvey.
The company did text us hours before the expected check-in time to say the unit was ready - which meant more time at the beach, so that was great news! Upon check-out, however, we were dinged with some extra housekeeping fees - but we explained to the manager that the 2 handouts we were given had inconsistent instructions regarding trash, and he kindly reimbursed us the extra fees). Also, a few bug run-ins (roach/spider), but I guess that’s hard to avoid when you’re in that kind of wet coastal environment."

"Thin walls and neighbors who would ignore quiet hours
The quality of the rental is definitely on the lower end - which make sense given the pricing. The pictures made it seem better than it is. It isn't terrible - it's just obviously a budget oriented rental.
The location is great. Good proximity to the beach and most of downtown Port A.
The biggest problem is neighbors who completely ignored quiet hours. Loud party until past midnight with shouting, loud music, and everything. The super thin walls didn't help anything. No enforcement of quiet time until we called it in and it took a while. Then the exact same problem repeated the next night. So it would seem that they were simply asked to be quiet but they faced no punishment for substantially breaking the rules.
The digital communication about check in/out and other administrative info was nice.
I'd book again with the same property management company - but not at this same property. "

It was nice and it was clean, but it had an odor. Not sure if it's a mildew or mold spell. Several ceiling tiles molded/mildew. Bathroom ceiling tile dripped. A/C vents molded/mildew and air conditioner filter looked like it needed to be replaced. Would recommend if issues were resolved."

I have stayed in this building many times in different units. This one has a nice remodel. Not luxury but clean and nice. Walk over to the beach is convenient. Did have a problem with several big black spiders we had to keep killing.

This rental was awesome and very spacious as well. Nice and clean and loved the fluffy towels provided. The pool was awesome too. When we left we unfortunately forgot some clothes in the closet but housekeeping was kind enough to turn them in to main office and brenda was very helpful in making sure clothes would be mailed back to us. So thankful for the staff and experience of our visit. Would definitely love to return. And we will recommend it to all."

"Can't beat the location
The location is what makes this rental a winner. The building and room itself is old and nothing fancy. We didn't mind that but some people might. We used all available sleeping space and I would say that it really only comfortably sleeps 3. The futon and recliners were not a comfortable option at all. There were multiple "amenities" that didn't work including the dryer (kind of necessary at the beach), the toaster, and the cable was a pretty bad signal. The facilities were clean and pleasant. We felt safe enough to leave our stuff on the porch over night. Short, nice walk to the beach. Overall a good option for the right (low) price."

As soon as we walked in we were welcomed with a unique and uncomfortable smell, It was a bit overwhelming- we bought febreeze and we were fine. The home was clean and perfect for my family of four. It was in a great location, we had parking right in front of our rental, very convenient to load and unload our belongings. I was informed prior to getting into our rental of the items we needed to bring as they were not provided which was nice. Overall our stay was nice and we all had a blast. "

I come to Port Aransas every summer and had a hard time finding somewhere to stay this year (I waited too long to book). Luckily, I found this little place and thought it was affordable.
We were very happy with the location and my daughter loved the little pool. The place was clean but the one negative for me was that the bedroom smelled very musty, even after we bought air fresheners.
Other than that, we were pretty happy with our stay."

The unit met our need for a short visit to the beach. It allowed us quick assess to the beach and we would go back and forth to the unit to recharge our energy and go back again to enjoy the beach. I would recommend an update on the cillings,appliances, doors, furniture, and the access to the pool. "

We enjoyed our stay with some concerns. There was a musty smell. The living room upholstered furniture was dirty and needed cleaning. The kitchen needed updating and was not as well equipped as we expected. The property management company quickly repaired a dresser door, but was unable to remove the musty smell. To benefit of future renters, we understand the owners intend to replace the living room furniture. "
