You’ll reminisce for years to come after spending time at Carnelian Gem. Beautiful forest views from the living room and balcony plus lovely accents add to the charm of this spacious townhome in Carnelian Bay, with room to sleep six guests.
On the entry level, you’ll find the primary bedroom with a queen-size bed, a full bath with a tub/shower and the laundry closet, which is in the hall.
The living room has an open-concept kitchen, which provides all you’ll need to create meals and memories. A hearty breakfast or dinner is easy in this space where the dishwasher makes clean up a breeze. There’s a dining table, plus bar stools at the breakfast bar. There's a gas fireplace for warmth and added ambiance. Keep everyone entertained with Wi-Fi and a smart TV with cable.
On the second level, another bedroom with a queen bed, a shared second full bathroom with a tub/shower, plus the loft with the twin beds. There is also an additional TV in the loft.
Your home away from home is in Carnelian Bay, where all North Lake Tahoe is right at your doorstep! Stroll down to Magic Carpet mini golf or check out Waterman’s Landing, located at Patton Landing Beach, a 3-acre, pebbly beach known for stand-up paddling.
To experience Lake Tahoe gambling and nightlife, Incline Village and Nevada's historic casino Crystal Bay are a short drive away, just across the state line.
Closer to home, you'll find superb dining options right in town like Gar Woods Grill and Pier for steaks and fish, the Old Post Office Coffee Shop for hearty breakfasts, and CB's Pizza for hand-tossed pies and beer.
You're only 10-12 miles from three great ski resorts—Northstar, Alpine Meadows, and Squaw Valley. Whether you prefer to downhill or cross-country ski, snowboard, snowshoe, or go sledding or ice skating, North Tahoe is the place for winter fun.
At Squaw Valley, after conquering the slopes, go tubing with the kids or try out the mini snowmobiles at SnoVentures Activity Zone. There are dogsledding tours too!
In every season, the Village at Squaw Valley offers dining, shopping, the Squaw Valley Aerial Tram, and a variety of activities.
In the summer, ride the Aerial Tram to High Camp then choose a scenic trail and walk or hike in one of the most breathtaking places in the world! At 8,200 feet elevation, admire the beauty of the Sierra Nevada Mountains with views of Lake Tahoe and Squaw Valley's legendary granite peaks. In the Aerial Tram building lobby, kids and grownups can have a blast climbing the variety of routes on the 30’ simulated Headwall Climbing Wall. If you dare, learn how to do a front or back somersault at Skyjump; all ages are welcome.

Great place - very clean and plenty of space for five of us. Walking distance to the lake and amenities at the condo were clean and good condition. Only negative was that the bed mattresses are worn out and need replacement. "

"Super Clean Townhouse!
Our family spent three nights in the Carnelian Gem and very much enjoyed our time there. It was clean, well equipped and the communication was very clear. We booked with VRBO but do be aware there is an additional security deposit required that somehow we missed in the original listing. A big bonus for our family was the recreation center with a pool and other activities. Only improvement I would recommend is the two queen bed are extremely soft. Maybe need replacing. And one more fan would be appreciated for summer nights. We used the two available but a third would give each sleeping area a fan. A ceiling fan would be ideal in upstairs bedroom."

Our rental experience has been consistent, year over year.
The units are clean and ready upon arrival.
From time to time, we have experienced something that stops working (fridge, W&D, etc), but the Property Manager has always been very responsive to address during our stay.
Would we come back for another stay?
Well, yes! In fact this is year 49 of return visits to the same property!��"

This rental was perfect for our stay. Parents in the bedrooms and kids slumber party in the loft It was very clean and decorated so cute! Had everything we needed in the kitchen and plenty of extra towels and blankets. Perfect location with Kings Beach and Tahoe City just a few mins each way. The people renting were very responsive and quick to get back to me through the whole process. We would definitely come back. "

Pro's: Can't beat the price; Loved how the condo was fully stocked with all the need supplies (paper products, towels; soaps; detergent; hangars, etc...).Just bring your clothes; Very quiet location; Parking could not be easier; Condo was much more beautiful in person than in the pictures; Very roomy condo.
Con's: No air conditioning during the Summer heat wave. The condo has A/C but it was turned off; Not the most beautiful location but convenient to the North Shore stores & restaurants; All beds are too soft and not comfortable. New beds are needed. "

The condo is well appointed and clean, and a short walk to the pool and lake. Not a lot of natural light but plenty of lighting and nice forest view from the patio. Couch cushions and bed a bit too soft. Property management was great with communication and very attentive. Would definitely stay in this unit again."

"Perfect in every way
I've stayed in many condos at Carnelian Woods over the past 15 years and this one is a stand-out. It has been beautifully upgraded with quality materials, especially all the doors and windows. You can't find a nicer unit -- sparkling clean, comfortable, aesthetically pleasing, uncluttered (maybe a few too many bears!), well located and thoughtfully provided with cooking/kitchen items. This condo makes any Tahoe visit perfect. "

I wasn’t sure if the place would be as nice in person as it looked in the photos, but honestly it was even nicer. The beds and furniture were comfortable. Parking was easy. It was right by the lake. The kitchen was nice. I’d definitely recommend if you’re looking for an affordable spot. "
