THE SPACE
The upper level features a spacious open kitchen and dining area with granite countertops, stainless-steel appliances, a dining bar, soaring wood ceilings, and plenty of natural light. Two upper decks extend the living space outdoors and offer beautiful views toward Big Bear Lake and the surrounding trees.
The kitchen opens directly to the dining and gathering area, creating an easy space for meals and time together. Two portable A/C units provide added comfort upstairs, with one serving the kitchen and living area and another located in an upstairs bedroom.
Downstairs, the spacious living room offers another comfortable gathering area with a wood-burning fireplace and access to the outdoor spaces. A foosball table and Pac-Man arcade add a little old-school fun for evenings at the cabin.
Outside, relax in the private hot tub or enjoy the fully fenced yard with your dog. The home's upper decks provide additional outdoor space for taking in the trees and lake views.

"Lakeview Trout N About Cabin
Lakeview Trout N About was very disappointing. The cabin had a strange layout. Looked rather well worn. I rented it because it had air conditioning, but that was very disappointing, with large tubes going out the upstair windows. I expressed my disappointment and was very surprised to have the office offer my choice of 4 other cabins to move too. The choice I made was for Raccoon Den and I was very pleased. I want to express my thanks to the very kind office personnel that helped me become very happy with my rental. They sent a bottle of wine and candies for a warm welcome. Much Appreciated!"

"Hot Summer Weekend at Cabin
Great communication via text message leading up to the check-in process. We paid for early check-in and were told that we would have a text message sent to us in the morning with the address and entry information. I had to text in the afternoon because I still have not received the text, but the team was polite and apologetic. We went in the summer during a heat wave and although the listing said AC, it only contained a window unit on the second floor. The thermostat downstairs read 75° while the thermostat upstairs red 92°. We called the company and they sent someone out immediately the gentleman was polite and professional, but told us that big bear does not typically have air-conditioning. He suggested opening all of the windows and doors to allow for a breeze to circulate through and assured us that at night it would get cooler. We went out and did some shore fishing at night to cool off when we came back. The upstairs temperature had decreased to 86°. We tried to sleep through the night, but decided to cut our trip short when we found a wolf spider in the upstairs bedroom.
I think if I would’ve done a bit more research about the lack of air-conditioning units in big bear in this being one of the hottest weeks of the year for them I probably would not have planned the trip. Everyone I spoke with from the team was polite and professional, and extremely helpful. We did reach out to let them know we’d be leaving a day early. We had already packed up our dogs and our kids. They tried to ask if we wanted a different rental unit and we declined.
If you’re going to go to big Bear, I’d recommend going in the spring or the fall or winter if you like winter activities the area is beautiful. The people are nice and it is very dog friendly."

"Not ideal
Pictures were deceiving. The place was a lot smaller than envisioned. Kitchen was located upstairs which was really odd. Overall the place could’ve been cleaned a lot better. We had to re wash lots of the dishes. The walk to the lake was close, but there was no where for us to put a towel/ chair down. Had to drive to real lake access for the day. Parking was a nightmare especially since we brought a boat and have 2 big trucks. The parking really is only for 2 vehicles. 2/3 bedrooms got horrible sun every morning. There were white curtains that did not help at all. Foosball table was broken. Bathrooms ridiculously small. "

"Somewhat Disappointed
Our second stay at this property was disappointing, different from last year. The house needs some upkeep - rug was stained, especially on the stairs and in the bedroom downstairs. The kitchen drawers needed to be wiped down inside, and I got a sliver on the bottom banister. All of the darts were broken, and the foosball table needs a bit of attention. The yard had a lot of weeds (some is understandable). The most troubling thing was not being informed that a house was being constructed across the street. We could not sit outside to enjoy the lake view due to the noise nor could we keep the door open during the day.
“Nice to haves” would be salt and pepper as a minimum, something to sit on in the backyard (other than the worn bench), as it is nice by the jacuzzi (which we did enjoy).
The bed downstairs and pillows were comfortable, and the addition of the Pac Man /games was fun."

rental agreement said to load dirty dishes in dishwasher.....but there was no diswasher! Steps to kitchen on second floor really narrow and steep. Otherwise lovely place close to lake."

"Smells like Smoke
We left a night early (had originally booked 4) because of the smell of smoke that was constant (it disturbed our allergies and would wake us up in the middle of the night), and because the heater would not stay on at night. It was not clean, there were so many dead bugs in the main window sills, and spider webs in the rafters, and even someone’s underwear found on the floor in the bedroom. The beds are hard, and bed blankets are very old and worn. I wasn’t expecting luxury, but cleanliness, consistent heat, and clean air should be mandatory. The hot tub, games, and layout of the cabin were great. Location was fine. I wrote to the management, and they said nothing. I also could not read the instructions for check in, or check out very well. It must’ve been highlighted in 3 different colors, with different fonts—very confusing. Be forewarned, I do not know why so many people gave this place a great review. I’ve stayed in so many VRBOs, been here for years, and this is by far the dirtiest/smelliest place Ive ever stayed in, and my first BAD review Ive ever given. People please leave honest reviews! If I’d known this I would’ve never booked this place."

"Great Experience
It was a great location, Beautiful spot with a gorgeous view of the lake. Very clean. Great customer service. The wifi wasnt working right when we got there and they sent someone over not even 10 minutes later and fixed it. The kids loved the foosball table and darts. They also provided board games. The outdoor hot tub was great. We had the best time at this cabin and would love to come back again. "

"Enjoyable stay with kids in Big Bear Lake
We stayed at this home for three days and enjoyed our time there. It's setup well for families or groups travelling with children since there are upstairs and downstairs living areas. Most TVs in the house are Roku TVs, which makes signing into your streaming media provider(s) super easy. And the hot-tub is a very nice addition. "

"Cozy Rental in Big Bear
Cabin is in a great central location, close to all that big bear has to offer. Home was clean and furniture was comfortable, plus we loved that both living space upstairs and downstairs had TV which made family movie watching a pleasure. The foosball table was a winner and the jacuzzi was new, hot and clean which was a nice relaxing experience after hitting the slopes. Do bring some of your own supplies because some basic amenities are missing; they provide a small hotel sized bar of soap in one bathroom and salt and pepper in the kitchen but that’s about it. Some improvement can be made by providing kitchen towels, kitchen dish soap particularly because there is no dishwasher, there was also no cleaning towels and limited cleaning supplies. Check-in/-out was a breeze and trash facility is very close by. "

"Fun and relaxing cabin!
We enjoyed this place a lot! The upstairs area had the kitchen and a nice dining table and fireplace in the kitchen/dining area. Also a large tv. Downstairs was the master and a family room with another fireplace and smaller tv and fussball table. We enjoyed the hot tub daily and our puppy loved the fenced in yard!"
