Visitor Reviews (6) Write a Review! "Great place on the beach We loved staying at the Captain's Quarters. It was right on the white sand beach. There were grocery stores and restaurants close by. The property and location were wonderful but there were other considerations that could have made it even better. Upon arrival we found the property was clean but not real clean. The dishes and glasses were clean but the pots, pan and cooking utensils needed cleaning. The stove top looked like it had not been clean for several weeks. The stairs had an accumulation of dust, sand and whatever. The guest room closet had beach things thrown in and piled randomly in a mess. We were happy for the beach things but --- a mess. We got it organized for the next folks. Janice the management rep met us on arrival . She helped us with our Internet connection the first day and delivered a very thoughtful welcome basket. The next day I had trouble connecting again and talked to her on the phone. She also E-Mailed some instructions and we finally got things worked out. We had no further contact with Janice. We did have questions but, since their were on-site managers present we went to them simply because they were there and seemed willing to help. Small things like a smoke alarm that went off in the middle of the night. I mentioned it to the on-site folks and they took care of the problem. We also used them as a resource for answers to other questions and local advice. They were exceptional and proved again that there is no real substitute for on site management. They were a great source of help and information and advice. Sometimes just the little things that can make a nice stay even more enjoyable. As you might expecte, we became acquainted with many of the long term vacationers. In conversation with them we learned that we paid approx 12% more than they did because we booked thru VRBO and East Coast living. Information we gleaned from them revealed that had we booked thru the Villa Riviera website we would have saved a significant amount of money.
