Surf Master by the Sea 1106 is a one-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bath oceanfront condo located 1.2 miles north of Garden City Pier. This condo features a fully-equipped kitchen complete with dishwasher, microwave, garbage disposal and trash compactor, and also an oceanfront balcony, washer, dryer, LVT flooring, and central heat and air conditioning. Other amenities include two flat-screen TVs (cable, one 46-inch HD plasma screen), two DVD players, DVD library, stereo with CD player, telephone, and Wi-Fi. Sleeping accommodations include one king-sized bed, plus a queen Murphy bed in the dining area. Common area features two elevators in both towers, two oceanfront swimming pools and hot tubs, ample parking, (some covered) 7-foot clearance. Parking spaces are limited and availability is based on the size of each unit. One bedroom units are assigned one pass; two and three bedroom units are assigned two passes. Vehicles not displaying a parking pass on the rear view mirror or in a prominent area on the dash board are subject to immediate towing per the Surf Master HOA. Additional parking passes are not available for other guests or visitors of guests. This unit is located in the north building. No smoking. No pets. No golf carts allowed. Maximum occupancy: 4

Conveniently located close to some of the best area attractions, Garden City Beach is directly south of Surfside Beach and ends on a peninsula at the mouth of Murrells Inlet. One of the most renowned attractions in Garden City Beach is the Pier at Garden City. Other points of interest include Marlin Quay Marina and restaurants Sara J's Seafood Restaurant, Gulfstream Cafe, and Original Sam's Corner.
Just south of Garden City Beach is Murrells Inlet, a seaside community considered the "Seafood Capital of South Carolina" and home to some of the nation's best golf courses. Once primarily a fishing village, the town is best known for the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk, a half-mile-long boardwalk overlooking a pristine salt marsh, and the many award-winning restaurants along Highway 17 Business in the central business district.
Brookgreen Gardens, a sculpture garden and wildlife preserve built on four former rice plantations, is located slightly south of the MarshWalk. It features several themed gardens with American figurative sculptures, trails through several nature reserve ecosystems, and the Lowcountry Zoo.
If you're looking for places to shop, The Market Common, Broadway at the Beach, Barefoot Landing, two Tanger shopping outlets, Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade, and many more shopping facilities are all within an easy drive from Garden City Beach.
Looking for entertainment and attractions? Take in a show at Pirates Voyage, Medieval Times, Alabama Theater, The Carolina Opry, or Legends in Concert. Then visit SkyWheel Myrtle Beach, Ripley's Aquarium, WonderWorks, Ripley's Believe It Or Not Odditorium, Hollywood Wax Museum Entertainment Center, and The Pavilion Nostalgia Park.
Other points of interest close by include the waterfront community of Georgetown, the third oldest city in South Carolina and the second largest seaport in South Carolina, and historic Conway, with its downtown Riverwalk area nestled on the banks of the Waccamaw River. Both towns include fine dining, shopping, and historic sites.

Been coming to SM for over 30 years with family. We rent 5-8 units each year. Great location. This rental unit needs a major overhaul, especially the bathrooms and kitchen. The half bath has never been updated and the master is overdue for round two. There are much nicer units available. "

Nice condo in a nice area. The bed rail was not fastened to the headboard causing the mattress to tip. Maintenance was contacted but the “fix” didn’t work. We used a couple of kitchen pots to hold it up for the remainder of our stay."

"DON'T RENT THIS UNIT-here's why.
Don't rent this unit--mildew smell in kitchen cabinets, kitchen faucet broke, ice maker broke, nice but uncomfortable couches, clock needed battery (fixed), mattress too soft, only 3 hangers, uncomfortable very low toilets.Shower part broke. Maintenance man fixed a few other minor things right away. No problem with management company. Unit needs refresh, especially kitchen (very cluttered.) Great location."

"Our summer stay at Surfmaster
Our unit seemed very nice at first but after staying a few nights, we noticed a lot of things that could be improved. First off a lot of areas were really dirty such as under the kitchen sink, in the stove drawer, the silverware drawer, under the couches and the rugs! We also found an article of clothing behind the wicker chest in the main bedroom! (We left it there!) Also there is constant water running in the closet in the hallway, from the hot water tank, air conditioner or some appliance. This could be a really nice unit if it was cleaned up and some areas were updated! The view is beautiful but unfortunately we couldn’t be on the balcony too often because of other people smoking on their balconies!! If they would change the smoking policy at the whole building, maybe more renters could enjoy the view from their balconies! There are lots of good restaurants close by and a lot of fun things to do after being on the beach! We also liked our unit having a door code, no more fumbling for your key!"

"Nice Stay
We've stayed in several units at Surf Master over the past several years and you can't beat the location or the views. This condo was as described. We had an electrical issue but it was quickly addressed. The bedroom had lots of dust bunnies behind the bed and dressers and the kitchen could have used a measuring cup but we improvised so, it wasn't really a big deal. Overall another great vacation in Garden City! "

"Small but fit the bill
We very much enjoy staying in Garden City, and especially at Surfmaster. We added a third week, after spending two weeks at one of the penthouses. This property was available and we enjoyed our stay. The new furniture is beautiful and comfortable, with a large big screen TV and plenty of DVDs for rainy days. The view is gorgeous, and we enjoyed the deck rockers. The problem is the size of the bathroom and the kitchen. Even with just two of us, we could not be in those rooms together. The kitchen is partially renovated, the cupboards are old and poorly maintained; they were dirty. The bathroom is dark, there was no room for toiletries, and there was mold on the shower curtain. Overall, this place fit the bill, but dont know if we would stay at it again."

"2 Weeks at Surfmaster
Very good. Been coming to Surfmaster for 6 years in 3 different 1 bedroom units. We liked all 3 but changed to see if we like another unit or floor better. Surfmaster management and grounds upkeep is terrific. Any problems we had were resolved quickly. Each had pluses and minuses. Unit 1106 had comfortable bed and living room furniture and we really appreciated extra cabinet storage in the bathroom."

This is a very nicely furnished condo. Furniture was comfortable and the rockers on the balcony were wonderful.
I arrived at 2:00 pm and had to stand outside the condo while it was being cleaned and then had to wait for some one to come to inspect it. I found that to be very frustrating."

We always enjoy going to the Surf Master property. The facility is well maintained and security is walking the grounds frequently. As to the 1106 condo,we could have slept better if the bed was supported not only in the middle of box spring but on the sides of box spring. Would suggest a main bath faucet that did not spray water all over you. We will be back.The condo really looks great with new floors and furniture. "

"A Wonderful Get-Away
Our rental unit was great. It was clean and the floors were not carpet, so they were nice and clean. The couches were also recliners. The bathroom had extra storage, which was great. There were 2 bedside tables also along with plenty of storage for clothes. The space between the bedside table and the closet was a little close. The toilets and the bathroom sink were a little sluggish. But all in all, a wonderful unit."

"terrible unit
Our vacation was great a susual but the unit we stayed in was not. We will not return and will not recommend Surf Master to anyone. The space under the kitchen sink and both bathroom sinks could not be used until I lined them with a green plastic garbage bag. All were dirty and amelly. The vent under the microwave was so saturated with greas that every time I used the stove or microwave the heat would cause grease to run out of the filter and down the wall and the top of the stove. The vaccum cleaner that was in the unit was so filthy dirty outside and inside that when I tried to use it large gobs of dirt shot out all over the floor.
You need to inspect your units better and need a new cleaning service, We have been coming to this ares for 15 years and this is by far the worst unit we have ever encountered. Sharlene Stock"

"1106 Surf Master 4th week in October 2017
We've rented @ SurfMaster 3 times now. This unit is generally the same as other 1-bedroom units. The décor, bathroom & kitchen are original to the property - very dated. The unit was clean, the couches were very uncomfortable, the bed was very comfy. The location is perfect, the hot tub is wonderful, very low occupancy in late October. Good place for the $$ although a comfortable couch would be great. Those sleeper couches are never comfy to sit on."

"Seaside Relaxation
Great place to spend a week relaxing and enjoying the beach. Unfortunately the first few days were during bike week. Lots of loud noisy bikes kept us awake at night, but after the bikes left town it was peaceful again. Room has some nice updates since last year. The flooring is new as well as the bedding and kitchen lighting. The king bed is very comfortable and new bedding is beautiful. Hoping the kitchen appliances are going to be replaced soon as they are showing some wear and tear. Overall a nice place for a couple to stay and enjoy the beach."

"Garden City Beach rental
GCB is beautiful & a great location that is close enough to all the Myrtle Beach attractions, but away from the busy traffic & crowded beach. Surf Master 1106 is spacious, has an awesome view, & provides all the essentials. However, it needs some updating & repairs. You should know that besides the dishes, utensils, & appliances, there is nothing else in the condo. No paper products, salt & pepper, coffee filters, plastic wrap/bags, pens/pencils, etc. We left some of those when we checked out for the next renters, but don't know if they kept them there. The tub didn't drain properly, the balcony needs a new coat of paint, there were holes in the carpet, the bedroom ceiling needs to be finished. Overall it's a lovely location on the beach, but just needs some TLC."

"November Vacation
Going to the beach in mid November is a different experience than our normal early summer beach trips. No traffic or crowds, getting dark at 5:45. The weather was good, high in the low to mid 70's. It rained on Sunday and Monday but after that blue skies and sunshine! We have stayed at the Surfmaster properties many times and it is always a pleasant experience. This condo is in need of some upgrades, new carpet, new furnishings, the ceiling material is flaking off in the bedroom and needs repaired, and some TLC. It was clean and everything worked , it just isn't up to the standards that we have come to expect from our other stays at this exceptional group of condos."

We have been using Garden City Realty for over 25 years, sometime twice in the same year. We cannot begin to say enough about the great customer service we have always received.
Very rarely have we had to call for repairs, but when we did all was taken care of promptly.
All rentals have been clean and well maintained, except for a few times when minor repairs need to be made. ie: crack in wall or ceiling repair needed... Most kitchen gadgets needed and a amble supply of dishes. Check-In and Check-Out is very easy. "

"Not happy with our condo!!
The owners need to do some major renovations, it is obvious the owners don't send anytime there or they would up date the condo!! The living room has a burn mark form an iron on the carpet. The couches are worn and in bad shape. The curtains don't close properly, the TV need updated. The kitchen counters are bad the corner joints are 1/2 " height difference. The dish washer door doesn't close properly. The floor needs to be update. The cupboards are old and in bad shape. The bathroom vanities in both bathrooms need replaced you can't but anything in them without things falling over!! The wall paper is old and needs a theme changed. The master bed need a new mattress and box springs old and worn out. This is the second year in a row that we have stayed in this unit and we will not stay their next year. We already have looked else where. I would NOT recommend this unit to anyone till it has a makeover."

My husband and I enjoyed our second stay at Surfmaster. This time we were in 1106 which is a nicely furnished and very comfortable 1 bedroom condo. The kitchen was well stocked for any cooking we wanted to do and there were lots of games and dvds, etc. to enjoy. We like the quieter pace of Garden City Beach and the condos are well located for any shopping and dining out with many excellent choices nearby. We look forward to renting this unit again."

"Surfmaster 1106 - A good week in August
My wife and I had a great time. The unit was clean and comfortable but the Living Room furniture and carpet needs updating. We had a dryer problem but the very professional GCR staff had it repaired within 24 hrs. View was terrific. We mostly dined in Murrell's Inlet and found each restaurant good to excellent except Russell's. Will not go back. Pacino's Mediterranian Grill was superb."

Stayed for the week and enjoyed the condo, views were great! Only down side is if they are predicting rain make sure you park up on the second deck. It has a tendency to flood on the bottom. There are no assigned parking but that wasn't a issue. Plenty of things to do around the area, a one mile walk down to the boardwalk! I would stay again!"

"Amazing View
We arrived after office hours and the check in process could not have been easier. They really make it convenient for their guests. Staff was very friendly. As soon as we walked in the door, all we could see was the ocean. Condo has an amazing view. The condo was very clean. Carpet needs replacing, and the the bedroom furniture (especially mattress) needs updating. We would definitely stay here again. "

"A quiet spot for an early fall getaway!
The rental was very nice, although not new or upscale. Decor is reminiscent of the 80's. The ocean view is spectacular from the living room and balcony. For two people, the one bedroom unit was comfortable. The balcony furniture was minimal, a rocking chair and one other chair with a very small table and side table. A chaise would have been nice. At this time of year, no beach chairs were provided with the rental, so be prepared to bring your own or pay hefty chair rental fees to a private provider. We chose to sit poolside on the lounge chairs as there wasn't much competition. We ate two meals a day in the condo and needed more than two packets of dishwaster detergent to run the dishwasher. No detergent is provided to wipe down the counters, either. A coffee maker, microwave, full range/oven, and a toaster are provided. There were plenty of glasses, dishware and flatware. One roll of toilet paper in each bathroom, no paper towels in the kitchen. Come prepared with everything you might need. There was free wi-fi which was nice and reliable, plus dvd's and a large screen tv. The weather was really nice, 60's to 80's. Airconditioning worked very well. There was also a washer/dryer combo in a closet if you like to do laundry on vacation. "

"Surfmaster ok, but condo outdated
Surfmaster itself was ok we have stayed there before and know it isn't brand new and showing age, but our condo REALLY shows signs of aging especially the kitchen. Cupboards were stocked but dirty actually very dirty. The balcony furniture was missing a chair There was only 1 chair for the table. Thank goodness there was a rocker otherwise we couldn't have utilized the balcony. The chair did not have a cushion so my husband had to use towels on the chair so he could sit on it. We did not use the pools but they looked very clean and well maintained. One of the elevators were broken for a day so entire building using 1 elevator made for some wait time. Strangely the last time we stayed @ Surfmaster an elevator was down. We were given (2) pass keys, but only one worked. The reason I would not recommend is I would not want someone to experience what we experienced on my recommendation. "

"Hit or Miss
The outside property is very well kept up.unlike the units which is a hit or miss from old furniture that smells to no hair dyers or even hangers these are not expensive items. Pots and pans that are old and need to be despartely thown out. Units should be updated on a regular basis. All units by now should have flat screen tvs.."

Carpet was very dirty. Feet were black when walking barefoot. Needs cleaning or replacing, was worn as well. Had to have maintenance unstop tub and sink in bathroom. We did enjoy our stay very much but the unit could use a bit of 'fixin-up'."

our AC went out 3 times..our dryer went out twice and we did not have water for 2 days (during the day).. I go on vacation to relax not to have issues..1106 was not clean and we also had to evacuate on Friday night and walk down 11 flights of stairs.. i would not recommend this unit to anyone"

"Disappointing
We loved the location, especially being on the 11th floor, however, we were diappointed with the unit. Walls and floors were marked, carpet was dirty, hallway lights were burned out and didn't work. Didn't get a feel of cleanliness and definitely needs a fresh coat of paint. Bed did not have a frame and it was sitting on top of an old mattress laying on the floor. Would not rent this unit again! "

"Not up to my standards.
The location of the property is great but the unit does need a thorough cleaning and a bit sprucing up. I wouldn't mind cleaning behind myself but there were no products to use in the unit. We even had to go buy dish detergent to wash a few dishes as they only give you enough detergent for two loads in the dishwasher."

"big disappointment for an anniversary celebration
bed linens were wrong size had to sleep on mattress for 2 nights,ice machine did not work had to buy ice; kitchen and dining room were filthy had to clean, stove did not work knob was busted to turn on, washing machine did not work breaker was off maintenance turned it on, large standing fan in bedroom blocked access to one side of bed; a/c did not work in back rooms was fixed; overall a horror, condo was not prepared for a week visit booked in March; have rented many times none came close to this disaster"

"Thank God for a ocean breeze!
We love Surfmaster North tower.We stay on the 11th floor and can only see God's great work. Our problem is the repair schedule and notice of such outages. Signs are placed in the elevator saying what they are working on. The air conditioner was off for water tower repair. We did not leave the condo during the day and did not know what was wrong with our air. Long story shorten- We were without air condition for 2 1/2 days. Our instructions on how to reset the air unit were in a drawer. Another guest helped us with written instructions. A sign in the elevator doesn't communicate to everyone. Or a sign saying to reset air unit would have helped."

Best location! Plenty of parking. Great to have rental company on the premises. No charge for sheets and towels is a huge plus. But the appliances were outdated, and the couch was worn out and not suitable for sleeping on. Beautiful big flat screen TV and nice recliner."

"1106 Surfmaster
Clean overall, but needed updating in kitchen and bathrooms as well as carpet. Baseboards in need of paint, very scuffed. Kitchen and bathroom cabinets and appliances need updating and soon, very much in need of modernizing. Otherwise, loved the stay. Furniture was comfortable and place decorated nicely. We enjoyed our stay; the weather was lovely and the people very friendly."

We have stayed in condo #1106 on several occasions over the past few years. The unit could use a new coat of paint, the carpet replaced, and a detailed cleaning. Ceramic tile throughout the condo instead of carpet would give the condo a cleaner feel than carpet. The sheet rock on the ceilings of the parking garage is bing replaced and unfortunately, mny parking spots on th back side of the garage were not useable because of pieces of sheet rock leaning against the walls of the parking place. We did not see much change in the construction progress of the garage ceilings during our week stay. In e past, we have always seen a guard on duty in the parking garage but we didn't see one this time. A young boy was skateboarding thru the garage and there wasn't a member of the management team present to tell him to stop. Signs should be placed in the garage, at least, to prohibit scateboarding in and around the premises."
