Aug 11, 2025 - , Maumee, OH "Great Neighborhood, Great Space! This house was perfect for our group of two adults and 5 kids. It was close to the pool and beach. The neighborhood was quiet and very close to Seaside and The Big Chill. A few things to note: to access the beach and pool, key fobs must be used, so be prepared to keep track of those. For the beach you must have a fob to exit to get back to the house so you have to take two with you if anyone wants to leave early. Also, the beach access leads you to a beach where the chair companies set up right along the shoreline. Be prepared to buy chairs or sit behind several rows of people. There are private beaches on either side of the beach access so that is the only option from the closest access. Because of this, we rode bikes down to the public beach access down the street (Eastern Lake). It was the perfect spot for us where we could spread out and not be blocked by chair companies. Neither of these things were deal breakers for us but if I were the owner I’d want to know. We loved the street, biking to shops and restaurants and the walk to the beach was about 5 minutes. There were a couple of quirks to the house ... it reminded me of an older home where the upstairs floors creak and none of the doors had traditional locks. Nothing that significantly impacted our stay, though. The beds were comfy and we enjoyed being able to spread out on the various decks and porches during the day. The provided bikes were a huge plus, and the proximity to the beach and our favorite local spots was wonderful. We were disappointed that one of the pools was closed the entire time we were there, but thankful there was a second one available on the next street! Our kids loved it. The location of this house was perfect. Super easy walk to the beach (even with toddlers and an infant) -- maybe 3 minutes to the sand, and the beach is less crowded than Seaside. Equally easy walk to coffee shops, restaurants, and shops across 30A from the neighborhood. Old Florida Fish House was a fun dinner for our party of 12. Ambrosia was perfect for a date night. Shopping in Seaside was nice, but I'm so glad we stayed in Seagrove -- far less crowded and super laid-back. We're already planning for next year!" It was perfect for our group of 5 adults, 3 children and an active 1 year old. We really enjoyed the porches especially the side porch and the one with bed swing upstairs where our grandchildren enjoyed gathering for bedtime stories. It was nice to be away from the crowds at Seaside while just being a short bike ride away. The only thing that would've improved our stay is having more FOBS for access to the pools and beach. We only had two for our large group, so it was difficult to coordinate comings and goings at times. I would recommend having at least 4 for large groups. We found the bikes as described, tires a little flat, which was remedied very quickly. The house is just great for 2 families, with a king downstairs as well as upstairs, bunk room, additional bedroom up and the extra living room upstairs was perfect for kids/teens. The walk to the beach was at most 5 minutes, the neighborhood is on the quiet side of 30a, which felt much more serene than the hustle and bustle of closer to Seaside. Perfect location in between the Big Chill/Hub for a 15-20 minute bike ride; same distance to Seaside, we biked every day and really enjoyed the house. Only complaint is the king beds are quite worn out and not terribly comfortable but other than that, no complaints and we'd happily return to the house/neighborhood! The location was very close to the beach which was really nice to be able to walk and be on the beach in just a few minutes. We also really liked that the beach itself was not nearly as crowded as Seaside or Watercolor. The only thing lacking was the two side chairs in the living room were very uncomfortable to sit in. The couch was great but the side chairs need to be replaced in my opinion. The property was very clean and well maintained and the extra room off the porch with a bonus drink fridge and deep freezer came in very handy! Overall I would recommend this property to anyone with a group of 8-10 that wants to be really close to the beach and away from the crowds of Seaside." There was plenty of room for our growing family as we did not feel like we were on top of each other. The Balconies and screened in porch provided space to be more alone if needed. The kitchen was well designed and had plenty of cooking tools. We did not fish or need to clean fish but I could see how the side room to clean fish would have been very beneficial to someone who does. The beds were very comfortable and the furniture in great shape. The bathrooms were roomy and the claw tub in the master on the first floor was perfect for our girls who love to take baths. An area of concern would be the side door did not lock so we were open to anyone who wanted to enter all hours of the day and night. We did not feel unsafe but it would have been nice to be able to lock the door as our 4 year old was found out on the front porch one early morning looking for his dad who had gone on a run. (It was 6:45 am.) The pool was very dirty the 1st two days we were there but after the pool was cleaned it was perfect. The Beach is a short walk away which gave us some good exercise. We had ample room to lounge around in the evenings without feeling like we were on top of each other and plenty of beds for sleeping. It was an easy walk to the beach and pool area and an easy ride to nearby restaurants, even though traffic during spring break is nuts! We had all we needed in the kitchen to make many of our meals, so we could avoid constantly making reservations. For the adults, the only thing we would change would be adding a mattress topper to the beds...simple fix. Clearly, we are spoiled by our pillow top mattresses at our own homes! " Oct 01, 2020 - , Granbury, TX "Seaside Family Trip 2020 Out of Bounds is a beautiful home! The location type states a beach view and there isn’t a beach view. We brought cabanas as rentals can be costly. You cannot set up your cabana on the Summers Edge beach access. Every day it was quite a chore to carry everything closer to the lake/beach area where cabanas are allowed. Had to go by a can opener and garbage door was falling off the hinges. It so happened that I’m in the kitchen and turn around and there’s a maintenance man (at the wrong house) standing in the living room (didn’t knock). He ended up repairing the door. One final thing is that for waiting until 5 to check in the house for extra cleaning for covid it wasn’t super clean. Mold under toilet rim and mainly kitchen area didn’t feel clean. Very minor things because the house is lovely and decorated beautifully! One thing the website doesn’t mention that we lived is there’s an extra room off the back patio that has an extra refrigerator and big freezer for all your ice. Definitely would rent again but be better prepared for not being able to set up directly off the boardwalk. Lovely lovely home!" On a quiet and tree lined street it is perfectly situated 4 miles from Seaside and a 5 minute walk to the beach. Everything about the house was comfortable and I loved the natural way it was decorated. We came at the start of the coronavirus pandemic so we ate in every meal and mostly stayed at home or on the beach, which was extremely private and quiet. The kitchen was easy to use and we had everything we needed. There’s a great fish market a 5 minute drive away. I will definitely try to stay here again! The location was great as far as access to beach, pool, and Seaside. I would definitely stay here again IF I was bringing my parents or other very quiet people. We had an issue the second, third, and fourth night with a neighbor issuing a "noise complaint" for myself and 3 other grown women sitting on the front porch talking and laughing. Very normal activity. We had 6 teenage girls with us, so the second night we were literally stalked by security to the point we became paranoid and could not figure out what we were doing wrong. I text the management co. at 9:30 PM and received a call back with-in 3 minutes. He told me what the rules were regarding noise, and we were following them. He stated he would call the HOA the next morning, which was very nice. The 3rd night we had the Sheriff patrolling the street, but then they finally stopped by the 4th night. Just for that reason, I would not stay there again with kids because it was ridiculous and unnerving. Otherwise, I give this house a 5 star! We did not feel on top of each other at all!! The two masters was so perfect for 2 families. Linens were amazing!! Super clean and fresh!! Just what I wanted and expected from a $3800 weekly rental. No complaints about beds or anything!! We just had a couple comments. The kitchen has to have hot pads!!!!! We burned ourselves twice trying to get food out of the oven. Also, my husband did not like that the lock on the side patio did t lock. He did not love relying on the little J hook on the screen. Otherwise, it was incredible! Thank you. We had a plumbing issue and management responded immediately. They were very considerate of our schedule too. The house is clean and spacious.
