We brought what we needed to cook but they had pretty much everything stocked if needed. They also had a propane grill outside so we didn't need to use the charcoal we brought. Yard was spacious and gated so out little guy could run around, however, the gates on both ends were not latched and broken off the hinge. It was a little worrisome at night as well as for our dog to run out. We blocked it off with some things just in case. Back door to patio also didn't lock so they had a wooden stick that limited it being open but still felt unsafe and worrisome at night. Bedrooms were big and had lots of beds for other guests. but the master bed was so high it was hard to get on and off multiple times. My son wanted to stay in the front room but changed rooms cause the curtains don't cover the whole window and he felt like someone could just look inside. All in all, it could've been better but the place was so close to town and we could go out and come back quickly to grab things or change. Great backyard for the kids, great hot tub and fireplace, everything you needed in the kitchen, plenty of towels (which is often not the case with rentals), extra blankets, TV's in 3 of the 4 bedrooms. There were 5 of us, grandpa, couple + 2 kids and we had plenty of space and a whole extra bedroom since the kids shared the bunk room. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend!" Last year there was snow on the ground when we got there but having it snow on them was an extra treat!" Loved the jacuzzi nice and hot. Perfect after snowboarding to relax the muscles. Would totally go back again! We called 2--3 times requesting these items, along with washcloths and towels to accomodate 10 people we had staying there. They did bring some towels and sheets. Just a short few minute walk away from the truck that takes you to Snow Summit, saves you some cash and time finding parking! First impressions of the house were good. The pool table was fun, kitchen was spacious and the house was overall cozy. A few things that took away from the appeal of this rental: There were tons of moths in the house. Not talking just one or two - definitely upwards of 20+. We kept killing them but it never seemed to make a difference. The kitchen wasn't stocked as well as we'd hoped, and many of the dishes were dirty upon arrival. Lastly the hot tub water was murky. I will give points to the management company for sending someone out that night to tend to it, but we didn't end up using it as it was pretty late into our trip at that point. My family and I stayed at the Breckenridge Chalet last weekend and had a great time visiting the area, fishing and staying in this home! The vacation rental was clean, stocked with many household basics that we didn’t expect to find, has a great open, family friendly floorplan and a nice big & private backyard. It is less than 2 miles from the lake so we liked the neighborhood also. On the day of our check-in I received a phone call from the property manager to discuss our arrival logistics and then informed me that the Jacuzzi was “still broken,” they had sent someone out the previous day to fix a breaker, filled it up with water and checked on it that next morning and unfortunately it was leaking so they couldn’t fix it in time for our arrival. As that was the very first time that I’d heard of a broken Jacuzzi and that was also a huge reason for us for paying $100+ for this property vs. another property without a Jacuzzi but closer to the lake, it was disappointing news. This was definitely a feature we all had been looking forward to using. In hindsight, I should have asked before confirming the house as I had read the reviews about this property and one about a Jacuzzi issue but figured that was in the past. I called back to ask how had it been broken but I was just finding out about it. I spoke to a man and he said he’d take a message for the other person I spoke to and that maybe they could see if there was another similar property with a Jacuzzi and he’d call back. When my family arrived at my house, we started loading cars and discussed this issue and said let’s just start driving and we’ll see what happens. I did not hear back from anyone on this subject. Regardless, we absolutely enjoyed the house and certainly our stay in Big Bear! We would consider using this rental company again as the rates are competitive, the booking process was super easy and the people I did speak to were helpful. We made a last minute decision to rent a cabin instead of going camping due to the weather and couldn't be happier with Breckenridge Chalet. There were 3 families including 5 children and everyone had a wonderful time. The cabin was clean and spacious. The jacuzzi was wonderful and the big backyard was great for playing football and soccer with the kids.The pool table was used quite a bit, too. The BBQ is already hooked up to gas and ready to use. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots/pans/plates etc as well as a few extras that other guests have left from previous stays which was great (salt, pepper, sugar, etc.). We used the dryer quite a bit as the kids were in and out of the jacuzzi. It's pet friendly but you wouldn't know it because there's no traces of pet hair, smell, etc. We had a little dog there and he loved it too! The property management company was easy to get a hold of, friendly, and provided good customer service. It's in a great location close to town. We'll definitely be back!" The main issue we had was that the window in the children's room didn't lock, and neither did the sliding glass door in the living room so the house wasn't secure at all. We had to prop the fireplace shovel in the kids window to secure it, and use a mop for the living room door. Other little things like a leaky toilet, very few towels, 1 flimsy garbage bag, limited toilet paper, pillow cases that didn't fit, peeling paint, etc were more nuisances than anything but at this price point you expect more. Would stay here again if the owner invests a little in maintaining the property and not skimping on supplies for guests.
