This is a VICTORIAN COTTAGE with basic conveniences on west shore of Cayuga Lake four miles from Ithaca.
This 1930s Victorian cottage offers you a lake-side get-away with basic conveniences on the west shore of Cayuga Lake. You need to be able to walk the four flights of stairs that is typical for the west shore of Cayuga Lake to get to the cottage. Once there, you'll find the necessary conveniences that come with a fully furnished cottage plus the 100-foot-private lawn, beach and dock. The cottage is just four miles from Ithaca and fifteen-minutes walking distance from Ithaca Yacht Club and Glenwood Pines Restaurant. You can have your meals inside or on the open porch overlooking the lake, seating eight comfortably. Sun rise and sun sets are spectacular! Yacht club races are fun to watch on Thursdays and Sundays. Or paddle the canoe that's available for you. At night, there's nothing like the soothing lapping of waves on the beach!
First floor ... Covered front porch with table for eight overlooks lake and Ithaca in distance. Inside is the dining-living room with expandable dining table, Futon couch that sleeps one, a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, stove, refrigerator and dishes, glasses, flatware, coffeepot, toaster, pots and pans. The first floor bathroom has vanity sink with cabinet storage, tub and shower.
Second Floor ... three bedrooms... master overlooking the lake with queen-size bed; smaller second bedroom overlooking the lake with queen bed; and small third bedroom with double bed.

PLEASE NOTE: For prospective renters who are not familiar with Cayuga Lake, you need to know that the west shore has a steep incline to the lake. Access to most lake properties is by stairs from driveway parking. In this cottage, the bathroom is on the first floor and bedrooms on the second floor. For anyone who cannot handle stairs, this cottage is not a good choice. The advantage of this location is that you are living right at lake level where you will be eating, sleeping, swimming, canoeing etc.
Why this location? The cottage is located between Ithaca and Trumansburg, so it''s easy to explore the Finger Lakes wineries, antique stores, State Parks -- Taughannock with its waterfalls, Buttermilk and Tremen with their gorges; also Cornell Plantations with its arboretum and wild flower, herb and hosta gardens. Check out Cass Park and the State Marina. Or take in an evening of theatre at the Hanger Theater in Cass Park or the Kitchen Theatre in Ithaca on North Cayuga Street. There are also a couple boat cruises, namely Cayuga Lake Dinner Boat Cruise out of M/V Manhattan pier and Tiohero Tours, a research vessel that offers tours.
You can watch Ithaca Yacht Club races that take place right in front of the cottage every Thursday evening and Sunday afternoon. The area is also famous for Ithaca's Saturday farmer's market off Third Street at Steamboat Landing, museums, and restaurants in Trumansburg and Ithaca. The Moosewood Restaurant in Ithaca has a big following.

"My wife, daughter, and I enjoyed an absolutely perfect weekend in this beautiful cottage! Its location - right on the lake and just a short car ride from both Ithaca and Taugannock Falls - is truly ideal. The interior of the house was very clean and well-kept and all was prepared thoughtfully for our arrival and stay. Highly recommended!
