Contact advertiser for specific directions.   Description This family cabin is named Rantalahti (Ranta's Bay) to honor the couple that built the cottage and raised their family on the lake. Centrally located on Lake Vermilion, a short distance drive from Cook, MN, it offers a convenient and relaxing opportunity for individuals or families to vacation. The cabin, located just feet off the water, offers stunning views and access to the lake literally right at your doorstep. The cabin features knotty pine woodwork through out. A private covered boat dock, a wood fired sauna, and a rocky shoreline are just some of the amenities. The bathrooms and bedrooms were renovated in the Spring of 2006, making this home a first class property! The open-plan living room, dining room and kitchen feature a vaulted knotty pine ceiling and walls. Two wood-burning fireplaces are provided in the living room. Modern conveniences, telephone, satellite TV, and DVD, are available for your use. The deck is located off of the living room. It stretches to about 7 feet from the water. If offers great views of the lake and has room to sit out and barbeque. The dock has three fingers each being approximately 20 foot long. The first bay of the dock is extra wide to accomodate larger boats. The second bay is wide enough for the average runabout. Both bays of the dock are covered to protect the boats from the elements. Lighting is provided on the dock. The dock can accomodate 3 boats. Boat rentals can be arranged at one of the neighboring resorts if you do not have a boat of your own. The sauna is in its own separate building located feet from the main house. It is a real log cabin building complete with stone foundation. Upon entrance to the sauna building there is a changing / sitting area with ample room for many guests. Through the next door you enter the actual sauna. The sauna features two stacked cedar benches and a real wood fired "Lamppa" sauna stove. Build a fire in the stove via the access door on the back of the sauna building and then come inside to enjoy a sauna. With the lake a few feet away, take a sauna, then run in the water. Wow.. The kitchen has everything you need to cook, from quick eats to fancy meals. All of the necessary pots, pans, trays, bowls, knives and utensils are provided. With plenty of storage space in the cabinets, all you need to do is to bring the food!
