Picture yourself on a private point with 25 acres of hills, hollers, trees, and a small cottage right in the middle. If you are looking for a very secluded getaway, this is it! Catfish cove is our R+R Getaway. Our batteries always feel recharged when we go back to reality. We just refinished this cabin from top to bottom. The small 800 square foot cabin has a antique rustic feel .It was gutted and all refinished with New kitchen, oriental rugs, cotton quilts, wrought iron, Candles, Zebra skins, natural woods. Furnished with comfortable new and antique furniture. The whole place just feels cozy especially those cool evenings with just a wood burning stove. We have Direct TV , VCR tapes or CD?s. Believe me this really helps with family bonding and your love life. We sit out on the porch sometimes hours watching the trees grow from our 5 person hot tub. A good card game in the evening always brings us a little closer together. Catfish Cove is right on the lake.I takes a physically fit person about 10 minutes to walk down to the water thru large mature trees.In the winter you can see the water from the cabin.In the summer all the leaves are out and I don't believe in cutting trees down just for a veiw. On the North side of our point is a cold-water creek. It flows down from the hills. This cold creek creates a haven for all kinds of fish especially dinasoric-sized catfish. The south side of our point is calm and quiet. This makes it a great place to tie a boat up for the weekend and walk up to the cabin. The West side is the point where we enjoy swimming and sun bathing. Because you can?t see any other people and hopefully they cannot see us, we have been known to swim in our birthday suits. As you look out over the shoreline you don?t even see another house. Picture spending the afternoon in the water and in the evening have a warm fire going with a pole in the water. About a hundred feet from the cottage is the highest point. Covered in sandstone granite this is where we have our evening bon fires. Cookeville is a great friendly town about a scenic15 minute drive away. Cookeville is full of things to do. A lot of the national chain restaurants or small quaint local places are here. Lowe?s, Wal-Mart, Kmart, Shopping malls Ect. Ect. are scattered thruought town. I have not counted them but I know there are at least a dozen state parks close. Cookeville boat dock is about 5 minutes by land or about 15 minutes to our cove by water. We found a to die for waterfall only found by boat near the marina. Burgess Falls state park is a short drive away. Nashville is about an hour drive. Sorry our pictures are so vague, I will take more soon If you want a get away place this is it. "what a peaceful spot! thank you. everything we wanted! hot tub was great! could not get tv in bedroom to work. seems there may be a remote missing, could not get any channels. but we didn't relly watch much tv, stayed out on the deck watching the sky. we loved it! Spence" Jun 26, 2007 - Spence "Our family spent 4 days and 3 nights here! The hike to the lake was nice, a pretty good hike uphill back to the house. The cabin was very beautifully redone! Kudos to Rick and his wife! My kids loved all of the lizards and frogs and other nature that they were able to discover on the property. We had a great marshmellow roast at the firepit one night. The Cookville Boat Dock was 5 miles away and Center HIll Lake is GEORGEOUS! We tried 2 different docks and we liked thisone the best. We truely enjoyed our stay here. It poured the rain the last night and it sounded wonderful on the roof! We plan on going back WITHOUT the kids sometime next spring! We definately reccomend this cabin for a getaway retreat. Don't come here unless you want to really "get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life" ! This is truly the place to go if you want to leave all of your worries and cares behind!
