Lokelani Jungle Hideaway presents a unique opportunity to stay in a verdant jungle setting within an hour drive of Kilauea Volcano, Hilo Town (30 minutes), Pahoa Town (15 minutes) and many of the famous sites of Hawai'i's Big Island. Let this lovely spot be your home away from home as you explore, relax, rejuvenate! The Hideaway has a comfortable screened in lanai with lounge furniture to get the feeling of living outdoors without the bugs! The one acre is landscaped with an abundant, jungle vibe including many flowering plants, palm trees and a sweet little pond. The open living spaces include a full kitchen, living room with WiFi, TV and more and a nice dining area. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The main bedroom has a king sized bed, air conditioning and ensuite full bathroom with shower and bathtub. The second bedroom has a full sized bed, ceiling fan, and slider door to the gardens. The third bedroom has a queen size bed, ceiling fan and door to the gardens. In the main living area is also a desk and chair in case you need to work. The living room and main bedroom each have a small AC unit to take the humidity levels down (but will not provide a refrigerator-cool in the whole house). There is a laundry room and covered parking spot as well. You have the entire one acre property to yourselves... just share with the neighborhood chickens, polliwogs in our pond and of course the Coqui frogs singing at night! Keaau, Hawaii and Hawaiian Paradise Park are located 10 miles south of Hilo and about 5 miles north of Pahoa. Keaau Town has a grocery store, gas and a few restaurants about a 12 minute drive from The Hideaway. We have an informative House Book in the Hideaway to tell you about local sites, beaches nearby and our favorite places to eat. E Komo Mai! This is a Hawaii County licensed short term rental. 6. CANCELLATION POLICY (not applicable to Hale Kai Suites. See section f, below): To offer you the best services possible, we strictly adhere to our cancellation policy. Guest shall inform Agent in writing of Guest’s intention to cancel the reservation. (For reservations made through third parties, additional cancellation policies may apply.) The cancellation policy is as follows:
a. If Cancellation notice is received thirty or more days (30+) prior to the check-in date, a cancellation fee of $75.00 will be retained and the balance will be refunded within 7 days from receipt of written cancellation.
b. If Cancellation notice is received less than thirty days but at least fifteen days (15-29) prior to the check-in date, fifty percent (50%) of the booking amount of rent and taxes will be forfeited. Half of the rent, tax, security deposit or damage waiver and any pre-collected cleaning fees will be refunded within 7 days from receipt of written cancellation.
c. NO REFUNDS if cancelled within 14 days of arrival (0 – 14). As a courtesy to our Guest, if Agent can rebook any portion of the canceled reservation, Guest will be refunded to the extent that Agent is able to re-book the Property.
d. This loss can be avoided if Travel Protection Insurance was purchased and the reason for cancelation is covered under the travel insurance policy. All reservation changes must be acknowledged in writing.
e. Owner/Agent Cancellation Policy: In the unlikely event that the Property becomes unavailable for any part of the tenancy for reasons beyond the control of the Agent, including but not limited to the sale of the property, Owner and/or Agent may cancel this Agreement and refund in full to the Guest all payments made. Agent will assist in procuring similar alternative accommodation should this situation arise. Guest agrees that any claims against Owner/Agent arising out of performance or
non-performance under this agreement shall be limited to a full refund of all consideration previously tendered by Guest.
f. Hale Kai Suites Cancellation Policy: The guest may cancel free of charge up to 14 days prior to arrival. The guest will be charged 50% of the total price if they cancel in the 14 days before arrival. No $75 cancellation fee charged on Hale Kai Suites cancellations.

Although we were surrounded by "jungle" neighbors were close enough to help me feel safe. The home was VERY clean and housed practically everything we needed to cook, clean and wash clothes, beach toys and coolers, and towels. At night pigs wandered about right outside our door; at first this made me nervous, but it excited my children and made their stay even better. I loved the sliding glass doors in every room; it gave us a clear view of the beautiful outdoor surrounding. I enjoyed the literature inside the home to guide our activities. The location was central to everything we wanted to see in Hilo so it fit our needs perfectly.
