Truly appreciate the extras of linens provided and cleaning service on departure; because of this service we will only use Atwood rentals in the future. The only negative comments would be directed to owner of property.... mattresses need replacing, partners constantly rolling to middle of bed due to aging mattresses, and decrease the amount of furniture. Too many extra chairs and tables; feels cluttered. The house sleeps 10 but if 10 people actually stayed there they would be bumping into one another trying to negotiate a place at the table. Just a short (2 minute) walk gets you to one of the very best stretches of sand on Edisto Beach. A golf cart - while convenient - is certainly not necessary. The home has been updated and now sports new countertops and backsplash. All our meals - and I mean every single one of them - were eaten outside in the screened porch, from which you can usually hear the ocean. All furniture, beds, and accommodations are clean and well cared-for. Thankfully there are no pets or smoking allowed, and the house reflects that in its odor-free and pet-hair free interior. The home backs up to a small creek, and then to the back of a church property, and so you have near-constant peace and quiet. As for the very few negative comments: 1. Although the rental agency says that there haven't been complaints about the hot water, it is absolutely NOT sufficient for the number of guests that it can accommodate. We thought that last year was an anomaly, but alas it was not. Plan on "staggering" showers, as it's impossible to get more than one hot shower back-to-back. If lukewarm showers are your thing, you'll be happy. 2. Regarding the downstairs outside showers - only one of them worked, and that at a trickle. In summary - once the water problems are solved, you will have the privilege of staying in the consummate Edisto Island beach house." The agency sent someone to lubricate the door and it was improved initially, but by week's end it was hard to operate. Other than those two things, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay."
