The Surfside complex is directly across the street from the beach and Gulf of Mexico. After a long day of fun in the sun you will love coming back to the beautiful courtyard with grills, picnic tables, covered sitting areas and a sparkling pool. The pool is heated as well so it can be enjoyed any time of year! The Surfside complex is made up of 2-bedroom condos surrounding the courtyard, making it the ideal choice for large groups looking to stay close to one another.

KITCHEN & DINING -Fully-equipped kitchen, see FAQ for more details -Dining table with seating for six -12-cup coffee maker
BEDROOMS/BATHROOMS (SLEEPS 6) -Master bedroom: King size bed -Second bedroom: Queen size and twin size bed -Living area: Queen size sleeper sofa -One full bathroom: Tub/shower combo

SURFSIDE COMPLEX FEATURES -Heated swimming pool (heated to a max temp of 91 degrees in winter months) -Poolside loungers, tables, and chairs -Beautiful fenced in courtyard area -Two gazebos within the pool/courtyard area -Charcoal BBQ grills within the pool/courtyard area -Multiple dog waste disposal stations -Coin operated laundry facility on site, $2 for washer and $2 for dryer (Quarter exchange at front office)
CLEAN BED PROMISE -Padre Escapes promises to launder every comforter, every sheet, every TIME! -After every stay we replace all towels & linens (including the comforter, which most people don’t do) with clean towels & linens from our 5500sf laundry facility where they are washed in temps of at least 60sC/140sF, exceeding CDC recommendations.
CLEANING AND INSPECTION -We use disinfecting products that meet or exceed CDC performance standards. -Every property is stocked with bath towels & washcloths for the maximum occupancy of the property along with one hand towel per bathroom. -These complimentary amenities are provided in the property as a convenience until you can go shopping: hand/bath soap, toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, trash bags, and a sponge. -We inspect every property to make sure it is up to standard and ready for your family’s arrival. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -A two-night minimum stay is required. -Contracting guests of Padre Escapes must be 25 years of age or older. The guest must have a State Driver’s License or other acceptable ID. -PET-FRIENDLY PROPERTY: MAXIMUM OF ONE PET. There is a $100 per pet fee for all stays 7 days or less, $200 for stays of 8-29 days and $300 for stays of 30 days or greater. In addition, there is also a pet-cleaning fee of $50 for stays of 7 days or less, $75 for stays of 8-29 days and $100 for stays of 30+ days.

Pets Allowed CANCELLATION POLICY: We require 25% down at the time the reservation is made. Reservations cancelled 14 days or more prior to arrival will receive a full refund minus a $50 cancellation fee and tax. Cancellations made 14 days or less prior to check-in will result in full forfeiture of payments made. Applicable refunds will only be issued to the guest by the same form in which it was made, even if a credit card has since expired or canceled. The above applies to moving dates or switching units as well. We recommend that the guest purchase CSA Travel Protection. There are no refunds for early departures or late arrivals. If a guest does not show up for their stay the total amount paid is non-refundable.

"Depends on the Condo, great location to the beach
The location is excellent for the beach, however we had two families staying at Surfside, and there’s a considerable difference between some units as far as general cleanliness and the state of the entire condo. Ours was pet friendly, and you can expect some general wear because of that. But it wasn’t very clean, very bare bones and outdated. Paint chipping off walls in big sections, and some plaster coming off too. It’d be nice if those units were significantly cheaper than other condos that are totally updated and extremely clean compared to others. People below us kept smoking and it would come up to our rooms. The guest services getting set up and checked in were great and very helpful. Everything was great except the condition of the condo compared to others for the price. "

We loved it. The only issue was towel hanger and toilet paper holder kept coming off. It's as if they weren't installed properly. Everything else was awesome and we will definitely be back. Super dog friendly. "

"Nice place to stay
Condo was nice, clean and in a great location just a walk across the street to the beach. The kitchen needs a bit of updating and perhaps some additional plastic bowls. For example, if you want to cut up a watermelon there really aren't any large containers to hold. Not a deal-breaker though. Bath towels are limited to 4, it would be nice to have more bath towels available. Some of the units had a key pad to acess entry, this unit does not so you have to keep track of a key. "

"Total bargain, GREAT location!
This was a last minute getaway for us to close-out the summer. The complex is directly across from the beach access, if walking, and just a short way from the vehicle access. The condo was just as described, and a great value. We would absolutely visit again."

"Does the job!
This property suited our needs for a family of 4 and a small dog. It needs a little bit of maintenance and updating, but we didn't spend our time inside except in the evenings. It is close to the beach."

"Okay not great
The general complex was fine bit tired but with wonderful staff. Ample parking and well maintained pool.
The unit we rented 222 showed all the signs of a DIY owner with limited skills. Sections of the walls without paint, over painting, wavey floor, exposed drywall seams and more. The property management company was great to work with and the towels / linens were fresh, clean and soft.
The unit has two bedrooms but limited hot water, due to the size of hot water heater, notes of the AC indicate the unit freezes at 72 degrees but we found the unit experienced issues at 78. The walls of the until need a thorough wipe down to remove mildew and dust. "

"30 days on the beach
Love location, we were in unit 222 for a month. The large area rug was filthy and smelled so we just rolled it up. Older people need good supportive chairs to sit in soft couches don’t work for older people. The picture shown is not accurate of the seating in the unit. There was a wicker chair that would have smashed to pieces if I sat on it and the wooden glider was small and uncomfortable. Like the complex and area but the owner needs to rethink how to make people comfortable on a long stay. "

Everything with our rental was great. The condo was clean and very well stocked. Check in was easy and the staff very friendly and helpful. The grounds and pool were well maintained and the location was great, literally across the street from the beach. Will definitely be booking here again in the future. "

"Not what it used to be
Disclaimer. Room 222 is fine. This is about Surfside in general.
Surfside has always been a decent place to stay - Not near the best and with paper thin walls/floors but now you have much higher prices and less service thanks to "Padre Escapes" professional (I use the term loosely) management. Nothing seems to be taken care of anymore. The full time residents are beside themselves on this as well based on my brief conversation when borrowing their grill lighter (they were not provided as the literature said). I had to fix the Coffee pot. TV channels listed must be for some other property cuz it's not for that TV. Etc, etc. You don't even have the charm of dealing with the people running the place which somewhat compensated for what is lacking at Surfside. It is run like a very regimented prison camp now. Everyone is going to out-sourcing but dump Padre Escapes."

"Stay at Surfside condos
We were very pleasantly surprised when we walked into the Beautiful, fully equipped courtyard and pool area. Our unit was very large with two full sized bedrooms. All of the guests and owners we met were great, and happy to be there. The management staff was top notch, very helpful and professional, as was the cleaning staff. We will be back soon. I highly recommend you try it out, especially families!"

"Very accommodating office personnel
Property is quite old. When we arrived the hot water handle of bath/shower was missing & the cold fell off. This was reported around 3, Wednesday. I was informed plumber would be by early the next day. He arrived 3:30pm. Stated he did not have parts as he wasn’t informed of problem. To shut off water in one unit he had to shut water off for entire complex. He returned in 90 mins & quickly fixed. Entire complex was w/o water for a few hours. We were offered use of shower in unit below for 2 days. Going up n downstairs w toiletries NOT fun. No elevator. My sister has immune disorder so it exhausted her. Would have appreciated ANY type of discount or compensation. Was told email got lost. Got to use a shower so there’s that."

"Room 222 recommendations
Matresses need to be replaced, bathtub faucet handles need to be tightened. TV in second bedroom only gets one channel, very old and needs to be replaced. No TV in master bedroom, needs to be added. No light bulbs in some lamps... sofas amd sofa sleeper were nice amd comfortable. Mini blinds are dated and worn. "
