Master Bedroom has access to deck and Jacuzzi tub in Bath; charming window-seat in dining area for curling up with your favorite book. Two TV's, DVD player, Barbecue (gas) and cozy wood stove. CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONING and lovely 12x12 shade canopy on back deck for escape from sun! (Cleaning Fee: $175) NO PETS ARE ALLOWED. PLEASE NOTE: 3-NIGHT MINIMUM STAY DURING HOLIDAY PERIODS. IMPORTANT INFO: Sugar Pine Lake is operational from Memorial Day to Labor Day only. Access is gained by a cardkey which is hanging on a lanyard on the left side of the refrigerator. DO NOT LOSE THIS CARDKEY! If lost, you will forfeit your Deposit. Please return key to the same location at departure. Rules of the lake are to be adhered to, if the lake rules are broken, and the owners are informed, If any Guest do not adhere to these above mentioned RULES/REGULATIONS it is a Forfeiture of your Deposit, and you will be asked to leave the your Vacation Rental without REFUND. If rent/fees have been paid, we can refund them entirely, provided the cancellation is made 30 days or more prior to the arrival date. If the cancellation is received within 30 days of arrival, the deposit and cleaning fee will be refunded, but the rent, reservation/processing fee and tax is not refundable unless we are able to re-rent the dates.

The gas fireplace in the den shut down after about 30 minutes (I just shut it off since it was very warm and didn't try to relight it). Noticed what appeared to be blood stains on the bed cover and the mattress pad on one of them." All in all the cabin is great - a lot of space, the kitchen is well equipped and the location is amazing. 2 things that made me rate this with 3 stars: 1. they don't provide towels and linens. This is mentioned only AFTER you booked the cabin, while at least for me, if would have been a consideration in booking a different cabin. for a family of 4, bringing our own towels and linens is something that can really impact you vacation experience (especially all the laundry I had to do when we came back...) 2. the cleaning rules are VERY strict, and they charge a security deposit of $300 which you receive back only after the trip is over and they verified you've met all their cleaning requirements. what do I mean by strict? 2 small examples: you have to put back all the bed covers (and remember we brought our own linens!), you can't leave the dishwasher clean but loaded which means you have to hand wash all the dishes from your last breakfast. I've stayed in many VRBO and Air B&B cabins and I always leave the place clean, but I've never had such strict rules. so.... if you are booking this cabin just be aware of these 2 issues. other than this we really enjoyed our stay. We stayed here july 1-5th and the inside of the house got up to 90 degrees which was not comfortable. Also, it would be nice for the price for the cabin to include sheets on the beds vs. you bringing your own We also noticed some of the spices in the kitchen were really old and expired. Might be good to do a clean of the cabinets. The couch in the family room is kind of dirty. I suggest giving it a clean or buying a new one. We just threw a blanket on it when we sat on it. The fridge took a day to get really cold as we seem to think it was turned on and not plugged in till the day we arrived. Aside from this we had a nice time. Very peaceful in Twain Harte. The location for Stanislaus Forest activities is great, the house is in great shape (although a bit dated) and the deck is large and great for just hanging out in the peacefulness with friends and family. Our group of 4 adults and 3 (4,4,6) had plenty of room to spread out and we did not even touch the bonus game room area under the garage. I am giving the review 4 stars though for 2 pretty big flaws that I think can be easily remedied. Not providing towels and sheets (especially when there is a washer/dryer onsite) is a real bummer. There was no mention of it until after the booking was made but even when you do bring your own stuff, did you remember hand towels? bathmat? did you bring all the sheets you will need? It's just another thing to remember and vacations shouldn't need more things to remember. Also, for a house that is great for kids, there really needs to be more plates and cups etc that are kid friendly. 4 year olds can't be trusted with heavy glass and heavy plates. I think if the price was rock bottom or we deep deep in the woods or something, I would let it slide but this house is a premium place at a premium price and these are simple fixes. It is spacious and has everything you could want and need. Our children, 17 and 22, and their cousins loved the separate game room. We set up a large screen and projector and enjoyed movie after movie for the Christmas Holiday. We are definitely coming back. We were comfortable and happy. Only 2 very minor issues: we would have loved to have the main fireplace work. We couldn't get it to turn on after reading all of the directions. Also, the trash cans were full. We made Christmas dinner at the farmhouse and had several bags of trash. Although the trash company comes Mondays apparently, during the busier seasons it might be a good idea to just have the trash removed prior to each new guest. The pathway down to the house in the winter can be snowed or iced over and is steep it can be dangerous for elderly who are not steady on their feet. I would highly recommend this property. It was perfect. We had a problem with the fireplace and the owner got involved he was very kind and helpful. He sent his brother out to help us.
