ADIRONDACK-LIKE SETTING ~ EXTREMELY PRIVATE LAKEHOME
State Parks ~ Swim ~ Fish ~ Boat ~ Hike ~ Bike ~ Ski
Conveniently located in the premiere recreational region of NY State where the Adirondacks, Thousand Islands, Lake Ontario and Finger Lakes regions meet! Easy driving distance from NYC, Boston, Philadelphia, Erie, Hartford, Montreal, Albany, Buffalo, Kingston, Rochester, Syracuse, and more.
Q:
How is it possible to vacation in such a stunning, exclusive Adirondack-like setting for such a reasonable rate?
A:
This property is truly one-of-a-kind! First, the Salmon River Reservoir is "NY State's Best Kept Secret" -- an 8 mile-long, 1 mile-wide Adirondack-like lake with only a handful of properties that can ever be developed! Surrounded mostly by State Parks and Forests, this lake is forever wild, with abundant wildlife and some of the best fishing in the Northeastern US. Second, our property has its own private 2 acres, PLUS shares 20+ acres and a huge 2400+ foot waterfront and picnic area with 12 other lots (only 4 of which have homes on them). From your door it is only a hundred yards (just over a minute walk) down to the beach. Many families with small children will find this slight separation from the water attractive for obvious reasons. The huge size of the picnic area with its many secluded and wooded areas, coves and peninsulas guarantees truly private enjoyment of all the lake has to offer. "Extremely Private" is no exaggeration: as unbelievable as it may sound, on most summer days we are literally the ONLY ones in sight on this beautiful lake.
Since this is our beloved second home, we've furnished it with care in an up-to-date mix of Adirondack and modern decor to ensure you'll have peace and tranquility with all the comforts of home, including: a fully-equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, warm natural woodworking and beautiful wide-plank wood floors throughout, cozy wood pellet stove, new bathroom with claw-foot tub and vintage bronze fixtures, new comfortable sofas, plush hotel-quality mattresses, and luxury cotton sheets. Three balconies and decks make this space not only a quiet haven to enjoy nature, but the perfect entertaining area for family and friends.
This vacation home offers something for everyone:
Swim at the sand beach, explore miles of shoreline in a canoe, fish for Large and Smallmouth Bass; Trout; Walleye; Pan Fish of all kinds, and more. Thousands of acres of State Parks and Forests surround you, with the beautiful Salmon River Falls just a mile away, and of course, the Salmon River with its world-class Salmon fishing, and Lake Ontario. Miles of fantastic X-country skiing and hiking trails await you just down the road at the Salmon Hills Outdoor Adventure Center. Mountain bike, hike, or ski right from your door; take one of our canoes and picnic or camp on one of the more than 20 campsites on the lake and its islands. The house has an attached garage going into a mudroom -- very convenient for skiers. This is a wildlife paradise -- you'll regularly see entire families of Foxes, Chipmunks, Deer, Wild Turkey, Osprey, Blue Heron, and Bald Eagles, and birds of every kind (and for the bird watcher, we have binoculars and Peterson's Field Guide). Enjoy your coffee in the morning on the balcony accompanied by the sound of nesting loons. Take a day trip to Alexandria Bay on the St. Lawrence Seaway and enjoy elegant dining at one of its many historic restaurants. Roast s'mores at the fire pit; read, play games or watch TV in the comfortable living room in front of a cozy fire.
Only 15 miles to Lake Ontario; 70 miles to historic Alexandria Bay; 50 miles to Syracuse; and 50 miles to the great Adirondack Forest Preserve.

"The house was neat as a pin with modern appliances, washer and dryer, and microwave. There are decks on two levels, front and back on the first floor. The lake is as beautiful as can be and there was very little traffic on the lake. Quiet and peaceful. We caught plenty of energetic small mouth bass, and a walleye that we had for dinner. Can't beat the price."

"this place is fabulous. it is steps away from a peaceful and beautiful reservoir where we canoed with our little one, swam and had a genuinely dreamy, family country experience. the house had everything we needed - the kitchen is well equipped for cooking delicious meals. it is is comfortable, neatly furnished, well laid out and quiet. we all slept like babies.
i highly recommend this lake house for a perfect vacation."

"We were here in August, and were impressed by the clear quality of the lake. Swimming is great, and the owners graciously have canoes available. Others were fishing, but we just paddled and appreciated being away from the city. The home is lovely, with everything you could need in the kitchen and bath. Many flowers were blooming in the garden."
Aug 26, 2009 - Louise Halverson
"This place was beyond our dreams. We wanted a quiet place outside the city to relax and what we got was so much more. The chalet was clean and prepared for our arrival. We were so grateful for all the amenities provided as well. One of the greatest things about our stay was the beautiful surroundings. The serenity is breathtaking and the scenery is gorgeous. We are definitely planning on coming back
