"Spent a week mid-July, it was Great!! So relaxing and peaceful. Sunrise from the deck with a good cup of coffee, what a way to start the day. Such a break from city life, no traffic noise or sirens and the night sky is remarkable. Saw geese, squirrels, deer and think we saw a Red Fox. All this without binoculars.
The cabin is spotless and well decorated, with a homey feel - then there is the landscaped yard area. You can tell this Owner really cares for her property and enjoys making people feel welcome.
The lake is large and well marked, easy to navigate and the fisherman on the water were friendly and offered to guide us to some "hot spots". We even saw a barge in the Arkansas River moving it's load "up" or "down" river (I don't know). Want to return next year and do the winery tours.

"The cabin on the senic point, the quiet country, the peaceful sound of the breeze in the trees. the beauty of the water, the sunrises, sunsets, the fun on the water! All these things helped make our visit great, but what we didn't expect was our hosts! who surprised us with their warm welcoming graciousness and helpful actions. So thank you for everthing.
Enjoy your little paradise!

"from Cabin Guest Book:
We all loved the Byrd's Nest and the area nearby.
Joye & Charlie treatred us like Royality and made the week so much fun it was over in the blink of an eye. The wineries in Paris & Altus are very nice and should not be missed. The lodge on Mt. Magazine was great, we were almost blown away in April. The fishing was great, several nice
catfish in the evening on shrimp, got strippers 3 days from the dock and large mouth, along with big bluegill on crickets. The puppies wouldn't say it was Pet Friendly here, more like "Pet Heaven"! The fireplace was so nice that the days it was wet and cool and windy didn't phase us. The Direct TV was also a chance to enoy a good movie and unwind at the end of the day. A week is hardly enough to get a real taste of the area, it is like putting a bookmark in an enoyable book so you iknow where to pick it up and we plan to do just that!!!"

"from Cabin Guestbook,
"We planned this great escape 6-8 months out. There was a tall order to fill in what we wanted to experience while on vacation. The "Byrd's Nest" was an absolute perfect fit for our family! The guys were ultimately fulfilled with unlimited fishing - morning , noon , and night! Crowed parks are NEVER our style. Joye & Charlie host/hostess to this peaceful, relaxing natural haven IS our style! As we settled in for the week the space to call our own was special, they made sure we we had everything we needed and revealed tips on the area fishing. How convenient to have our own boat stall to hop in and out of all week as we pleased.
We caught fish everyday - experimenting with every fisherman's bail and lake spots; digging for worms; pulling in catfish within seconds was entertaining! THANKS FOR SHARING THE SPECIAL LAKE POINT NATURAL CABIN. WE'LL TREASURE THIS TIME FOREVER IT WAS THE TYPE OF VACATION I HAVE ALWAYS DREAMED OF"

WE WOULD LOVE TO COME BACK AND SPEND MORE TIME IN THIS LITTLE PARADISE OF YOURS!!

"from Cabin Guest Book:
"When planning a trip to senic Arkansas it's surely not hard to find fun for all. Mt. Magazine with it's breath taking bluffs leaves nothing to be desired for nature buffs. A short trek on Petit Jean to Cedar Falls is surely enough to leave one in awe. for the car connisseur there's a museum for cars. For the newlyweds there are romantic walks 'neath the stars. The truth is a stay at the "Byrd's Nest" leaves little to be desired and there's plenty of peace and quiet for you if you're tired. Paddleboat across Dublin Bay to a great swimming hole where you can find mussells all day. A tour on the barge, timed just for sunset with a tour guide like Charlie, how much better could it get? Joye's kindness and humor are sure hard to beat - and the cozy cabin was a perfect retreat. Wildflowers to gather fish to be caught, BBQ'ing on the deck, A/C when it's hot, the "Byrd's Nest is great - next time we head this way till be first we call. Harrison Family"

"From the Cabin Guest Book:
"I searched the internet for a cabin on Lake Dardanelle--it popped up "Byrd's Nest" I knew by reading the webside it was perfect. My husband and I got to spend a termendous wonderful week week here. Mid-week my son and mother joined us with the 4-wheelers. They to enjoyed themselves immensely. I just can't describe how thoroughly we all enjoyed ourselves. When they put things together here they thought of everything. We caught soooo many fish. We plan to make regular visits."
