The peaceful surroundings give no hint to the activity and attractions that lie in the surrounding area. Offering seclusion, quiet, and gated access, Green Valley is the perfect getaway from the noise and confusion of everyday living. The cottage is located just a short stroll or bike ride from the two-acre lake. This two-bedroom/one-bath cottage is fully furnished, and features a lovely gas fireplace for those cozy, romantic winter nights! The kitchen has a refrigerator, microwave, stove/oven, a full-size washer/dryer, a coffee maker, toaster, silverware, and dinnerware -- plus everything you'll need whenever you cook in. If you prefer to dine out, there are several restaurants just 20 minutes away. Also nearby is a supermarket, drugstore, antique mall, various fast-food shops, and video rentals. The bedrooms include a full-size bed and a queen size bed, a chest of drawers, a closet, a TV/DVD, and a CD player. Francena Cottage also has a very relaxing two person hot spa hot tub on the great room deck. The lake at Green Valley is stocked with bass, bluegill, and catfish -- and provides our guests with many opportunities for outdoor fun. Fishing, pedalboating, relaxing on the dock, or strolling in the moonlight makes the lake one of our guests' favorite spots. For hiking enthusiasts, there are six marked hiking trails that take you through tall white pines, across Bear Creek, and alongside part of an old split-rail fence built in the late 1800's. The trails are also a great way to enjoy the beautiful fall foliage. Green Valley is an easy drive from Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Richmond, Washington, DC, and New York. "My husband and I ,along with another couple, just recently rented the two cottages here (3/2-3/4/07) and Green Valley Lake is a great get-away! We enjoyed being outdoors, hiking and spending time watching some wildlife. We were able to see deer, many types of birds (eating out of the feeders on the deck) and flying squirrels. The cottages are well spread out, so you have your privacy & can enjoy the hot tub, very clean and they just make you feel cozy.
